He willed it done, that simple.

God did not need the Catholic Church to do for him what he could not do himself

True. God established the Catholic Church, and then willed that it set some of its oral traditions down in writing, which then became what we know as the Bible.

It probably is true that “God did not need the Catholic Church” for this program of His, but that is how He did it, and it’d be best for everyone to notice this, and get with the program.

This reminds me of the virgin birth of Jesus. People who minimize Mary’s role are fond of saying that Mary was just a platform, a place to grow the baby and feed him for a few years. However, following Allis’ logic it is obvious that God did not need Mary in which to conceive and bear, and rear the child Jesus. He could’ve done it any number of ways. But He chose THAT PARTICULAR WAY. Therefore, rather than try to out-think God in this matter, wouldn’t it be better to wonder what God had in mind, and try to get with that program?

That would require humility which many seem to have an issue with. Yes, myself included. The fact is God does not NEED any of us.

Well, first the Holy Spirit of God moved godly men to write what He wanted revealed about himself, (that’s called revelation)
2) God pre-determined what he wanted man to know about himself, (that is called canonizion.
3) God by the Holy Spirit lead godly men to discover the writing that God had canonized.
