A flash mob at Bachmann & Associates, a Christian counseling clinic run by Michele Bachmann and her husband Marcus, protested the clinic’s acceptance of state and federal money Thursday and poked fun at allegations that the clinic performs therapy to “cure” homosexuality. The mob, dressed as barbarians — a nod to one of Marcus’ comments about LGBT people — danced a choreographed routine to Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way.”

The barbarian outfits were in response to a radio interview Marcus Bachmann gave in 2010 that insinuated that LGBT people were “barbarians” who “need to be educated.” The dance troop also featured a fake Marcus Bachmann who was “baptized” in glitter during the stunt.

It’s too bad they didn’t have a high powered hose to turn on the crowd…

On the one hand, it wasn’t e very nice way to describe homosexuals.

But on the other, they then went out and proved him to be correct, at least in this case. Way to go…

Shows to go you that praying the gay away is not working, thusfar. I guess they can keep getting federal money in hope that it does.

“The dance troop also featured a fake Marcus Bachmann who was “baptized” in glitter during the stunt.”

May Almighty God have mercy on their souls for such a blasphemous mockery of the Holy Spirit.

Did you consider they may be mocking Marcus Bachman?

Yes. While making a mockery of the sacrament of Baptism in the process.
I still think they were trying to point out the hypocracy of the clinic rather than the sacrament. Much has been written about this and at this point it is hardly news. I feel the thread is only running to incite antagonism to the gay faction. It’s done a lot around here. Why is everyone so vocal about gay issues?

Quite frankly, I’m sick of hearing about gay issues. Not a day seems to go by now that gay issues aren’t crammed down people’s throats.

there does seem to be an abnormal attention paid to all things gay. Why all the vitriol?

Maybe because----

A) The issue of legalization of gay marriage and total acceptance of homosexuality/lesbianism as a “non-sin” and “normal” in our society is being shoved into our face and forcing us to “accept it” despite it quite clearly against God’s law and our religion-------

B) Our religion calls us to stand up for our beliefs, our Faith, and the truth and to call out against any attempts to pervert it, change it, or otherwise “change” it.👍👍

The main hypocricy is on behalf of Catholics who com to the defense of such swinish buffoonery.

I have to admit, in all my life, I’ve neer of heard of protesting by using glitter

I understand that your religion does not condone homosexual acts. Homosexuals that are chaste are fine and I hate to use the word but must, dandy.
Tax dollars can not and should not be funding this type of thing.

I don’t care how much you dislike homosexual acts.

Tax dollars can not and should not be funding this type of thing. We do not live in a theocracy. When will you understand that?

StrawberryJam----

Please clarify what you mean by “this sort of thing.”

The Christian Counseling done in the clinic?

Or the fact that ALLEGEDLY, REPORTEDLY the clinic tries to “cure” homosexuality?

Marcus Bachmann has himself said they try to “reverse” homosexuality ONLY if asked specifically by one of the patients at the clinic. Otherwise, they give counseling, not specifically, exclusively “curing” therapy. So again, please specify what you mean.

What kind of counseling do they do for people if not asked specifically to reverse homosexuality? And why should tax dollars fund it?

Protest is fine in America regardless of the issue, although I’m not so sure this particular format, which involves ridicule, helps their cause. I object to any defamation of religion, however, including in this instance the Sacrament of Baptism.

There must be a reason why the goverment funds his clinic.
