Wrong. I said that self-reporting alone is not proof and cannot be used as the sole basis of a scientific conclusion. That isn’t what the authors of this study did. They formed a hypothesis, found subjects via assessed self-reporting and a thorough interview process, and based their conclusion on FMRI scans.

I know what the study is saying and the sampling is barely enough to run a t-test to say that there is a difference between the two distributions nothing more nothing less. The whole experiment is a demonstration that two groups of self-assessed samples (thus biased experiment) do not have the all the same reactions when submitted to a set of variables. The only relation is that the imaging of the brain does not yield the same response to the stimuli.

BTW How do you explain the following wording?:

“To compare differences in fMRI signal intensity changes across all stimulus conditions and among brain regions, we calculated the average fMRI signal-intensity change relative to the fixation baseline for each subject for regions of interest defined in the left and right amygdala and the left and right thalamus. Group-difference analysis revealed that homosexual men showed the same magnitude of activation as heterosexual men in all of these regions of interest during sexual arousal. Stimulus-condition analysis revealed that heterosexual men showed greater activation than homosexual men in the left amygdala for the M-M stimulus (z = 2.156, P < .05). However, there was no significant difference between homosexual and heterosexual men in the magnitude of activation in each region of interest for the F-F and F-M stimuli.

First there is no measurement of the amount of sexual arousal, the measurement is postulated by the MRI and that is a tautology. The results says to me that the self-defined homosexual men were not homosexual but just ready to ump everything that moved.

BTW I seriously doubt any scientific article that is performed in a Chinese institution, especially those related to social engineering and/or to introduction into new technologies.

Ok come on, what did they expect? You annouce on a radio that LGBT people are barbarians, and you expect them not to respond? On the contrary, you should anticipate such a response It they would have been more charitable in their comments, the reaction wouldn’t have been so out there.

Right! Then I should always tell women that if the wear skimpy skirts they are responsible for being sexually assaulted, or maybe not!
