This issue has not been brought up at CCD.
There is no confusion. What is the confusion about that I have no right to call people a sinner?

God calls them sinners because he is perfect. NOT YOU YOU AREN’T PERFECT YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO CALL SOMEBODY A SINNER BECAUSE YOU AREN’T PERFECT.

Sinners are sinners.
We are all sinners.

I have two close firends who are gay women.
My oldest friend from childhood has a gay adult-child

I would never and can never support anyone’s homosexual lifestyle.
I do not wish any sin to be central to their lives.

Would you???

The Holy Father has spoken often about the dire consequences
of hold to relativism in this world. Read up on it.

Do you not know the difference between judging and condemnation? You seem to misinterpret what Jesus meant when he said “may the first person without sin, cast the first stone”. They were condemning the woman to death for her sins, and that was what Jesus had a problem with. Jesus himself acknowledged the woman was a sinner. The problem was not in calling her a sinner, but rather in the rest of them putting themselves above her in the position of God to condemn her.

I know for fact that you judge people all the time. Do you trust everyone you know equally? If you didn’t judge people wouldn’t you have to trust them all equally? The parable of the talents shows judging. Some servants were more capable than others.

Yes Julianne and I and others can refer to sin as sin,
to sinners as sinners. I’m a sinner, so are you.

Your belief system (your faith) seems to have been horribly distorted.

(Hope I’m “allowed” to say that.)

Yes we are all sinners and shouldn’t have the right to call someone else a sinner because we sin and aren’t perfect.

You are confused in your moral relativism. educate yourself about moral relativism and please, make an appointment to visit with your priest about this thread and your concerns and thoughts.

Guess you have no plans to be hearing confessions as a priest.
To hear a confession, you must acknowledge that people are sinners.

Okay we have all been to confession before but in the process when has the priest ever called you a sinner. You only call yourself a sinner. You say you have sinned the priest asks what is your sin. You say your sins and and any other sins. And then the priest says a prayer and then he gives a penance.

“You say you have sinned the priest asks what is your sin. You say your sins and and any other sins.” Then the priest FORGIVES your sins. And then the priest says a prayer and then he gives a penance.

He forgives you of your sins he never calls you a sinner. The Holy Ghost takes presence in the priest and speaks as Jesus through the priest.
