It could be the Protestant leading them away from the Church that sets them on the road to Hell!Is it better that they go to Hell rather than be reached with the Good News from a protestant?

Well of course kaycee does!!! kaycee has been here long enough to know what is and is not offensive, what and what not to say, how and how not to say it.I’ll bet you don’t even realize how offensive that comment is, do you?
I was a bit surprised by Kaycee’s comment. Usually, he is a pretty polite poster. I agree with little that he says but I have always respected him. I am hoping that he just had a bad day and will come back and reword his statement.Well of course kaycee does!!! kaycee has been here long enough to know what is and is not offensive, what and what not to say, how and how not to say it.
Thanks Deb. I think some of my statements were taken the wrong way and also I was reacting in anger to what i saw as mercygates slams to fellow believers of mine. A Isn’t a Catholic in name only, really on that road already? I dont think hearing the Gospel will hurt.It could be the Protestant leading them away from the Church that sets them on the road to Hell!
I’m curious what changed your mind? I think you remarked earlier that you were lied to. Really?I know Christianity and Catholicism is IT. If ya make a statement about our most holy faith ya better know what your talkin’ about, instead of something that you heard about Catholicism from somewhere else. And if you used to be Catholic and converted to something else, (shame on ya like it was shame on me) you blessed well better tell the truth about the faith, or I’m gonna make you look like Ned in the first reader & show where you got ripped off and need to come home. Hey, Pax vobiscum,

What outrageous statements that have no basis in truth, e.g. the “explanation” of Orthodoxy that says among other things the Orthodox do not believe in transubstantiation. Not be uncharitable - but such ignorance repulses me.

Who’s game? If you are charitable, and know your stuff, go ahead and correct this poor child. This sort of thing should not go on without Catholics speaking for Catholics.
God, that motivated me! I wonder if you could tell me where you learnt about are faith from. Im trying online, but cant really navigate catholic.com or newadvent.org. Thanks!!!The Catholic Church is doing at least as good a job of “evangelising their own” as any n-C denom out there. I see great many squared away Catholics and this site helps make more by the hour it seems. It cracks me up when I talk to n-Cs who try to tell me stuff about my church and I blow them outta the water by charitably showing that not only are they wrong about the Catholic Church, but they are following errant winds of doctrine that don’t align with what the early church wrote that they believed either. Maybe… just maybe someday n-Cs will stop buying into everything that someone says about Catholicism and talk to Priests and Catholics who really know the faith and get the straight dope. Until then, we who know the faith well have our work cut out for us. We’re taught not to be “sheep stealers”, but so far as I am concerned, if n-Cs seek to evangelize us, they open the door for reciprocation and I will most definitely give as good as I get.
“Anything less, just wouldn’t be civilized.”
But if we Catholics actively attempt to evangelize n-Cs the way he seems to feel is okay for them to do to us they are all up in arms about it. Double standard? You betcha!
I’ll say this though, on my lamest days away from the church, I was one of the most upfront and no fear “witnesses” they’ve ever seen. Now, I’m an n-C’s worst nightmare. A Catholic who knows both sides and all their “evangelism tools” and uses them on them to show the errors of the reformed belief systems. I’m not the least afraid of sharing my faith and I figure that if I’m fair game to them then they are also fair game to me.

Hey, Pax vobiscum,
I see it this way…if one tells me that they believe the Bible is the Word of God and that they are “New Testament Christians” then I expect them to be honest in their adherence to Biblical truth. Yet whenever it comes to Catholicism…they cop this tude that we are wrong and deny things like the Eucharist which is baffling to me. Most I find are just not being honest…and that makes it lies.I’m curious what changed your mind? I think you remarked earlier that you were lied to. Really?

Lol. I get jokes.? :irish1:
is better.
Funny thing is that right now the South is where Catholicism is growing most rapidly in the US!Let me reiterate what I meant when I said it seems Protestants are terrified of us but we could care less about them. That is my feelings. I mean, I don’t go to Mass and hear Fr. Ralph at beautiful St. Louis Bertrand in Louisville, Ky go on a rampage about how Protestants are going to Hell! He never tells us to go out and Evangelize Protestants. So why do so many Protestant Preachers feel the need to Evangelize Catholics? All this does is make people angry. At least it does me when you are a strong Catholic and have a backbone. Like on another topic on the other denomination board. Why are these Protestant missionaries going into Mexico and Latin America trying to sway people to leave Catholicism??
I don’t see many Catholic missionaries heading into the rural South and Appalachia trying to evangelizd them.
Maybe we should?? Maybe we should go into the backwoods of the Rural South where they are 99.9"% Protestant and Evangelize. They would be Furious!!
