I am a woman and I agree with this. Women are adults, not children.
It’s the duty of men to die for the protection of women and children. It’s called chivalry.
Why do men believe they go to war? In the romantic sense of the word, men go to war to protect their families, their children, the woman they left behind. You give up your seat to a woman on a bus or a lifeboat, just as you hold a door for a lady or walk on the street side of the sidewalk. But of course, men of our age have forgotten that.

I’m not sure the Costa Concordia tragedy happened because of not following “Women and children first” as opposed to “the captain always goes down with his ship” not occuring.

theweek.com/article/slide/223370/disaster-at-sea-a-visual-timeline-of-the-costa-concordia-capsizing#4
The ship hit a rock at 9:42 p.m. Friday, then veered into shallow water near the Tuscan island of Giglio. Seventy minutes later, Capt. Francesco Schettino ordered passengers and crew to abandon ship (a German passenger took this picture from a rescue boat). “It was complete chaos,” passenger Kathy Ledke tells CBS News, “and it was every man for himself.”
A fatal wound
Underwater granite outcroppings sliced into the Costa Concordia’s hull, which quickly filled with water. Crew members, feeling the ship listing, knew the situation was dire and took it upon themselves to get passengers into life jackets and begin evacuation procedures before the captain admitted the gravity of the problem to the coast guard.
Chaos on board
Passengers scrambled into life vests and crowded into corridors leading to lifeboats, as seen in this still from a video shot by a German passenger. Capt. Schettino left aboard a lifeboat with passengers still on board, and reportedly refused orders to get back on the ship to lead the evacuation.
Then in the audio taped conversation between De Falco, the coast guard official, and Schettino, Schettino refuses to board the ship because “it’s too dark”

As opposed to the Titanic that happened in the deep ocean, this occured relatively close to shore,If Schettino acted as a leader should have, everyone could have been rescued.

A vast cultural catastrophe indeed.

As for men being care-free adolescents their whole lives, well, if feminism has taught men anything, it is that even if they should willingly knuckle down and accept the responsibility of being a father and husband, it can all be taken away from them by a ‘system’ that places the ‘rights of women’ over and above the rights of husbands and fathers. You reap what you sow.
Actually it hasn’t. All it does is encourage men to stop putting their names on the kid’s birth certificate (lest they have to pay). The law works by looking at the birth certificate and saying “well, he’s the daddy” and taking money from the check If the man is smart enough to have sex with only promiscuous women, he has very little to fear. Secondly, it’s relatively easy to hide income, and it’s actually pretty commonplace – once the state catches up to where “daddy” is, he’s mostly gone.

Actually, such laws may in fact punish responsibility in some ways – if you can get a woman pregnant and flee, you’re in better shape than sticking around. Further, because of the perception that the kid will be taken care of no matter what, the woman has very little incentive to insist on marriage.

Studies have showed that women are not as intelligent as men…On average.
But as i was saying. They have claimed to be equal. The last two generations of males have been taught that women are their equals. So why the out rage when something like this happens? Reap what you sow ladies…Reap what you sow.
Women are equals except for a few things that don’t have to matter in the ordinary course of life. What they wanted, they deserved! And men better get used to it! 👍

Your generalization is wrong. Many men, including myself for my five children, proudly put my name on each of my children’s birth certificates.

Men haven’t forogtten anything. We have been taught we are all equal. So why should i open a door for someone who is just as capable as me? Noone opens the door for me.
I wouldn’t go to war for any woman i wasn’t related to or married to.
Why should i give a seat on a bus to a woman. Is she not just as capable as me?
Why should i give my seat up on a life boat for a woman? Isn’t each life as valuable as another? Don’t i deserve to see my family again? Doesn’t my family deserve the right not to go through the pain and suffer the loss of a Father, son, brother etc? What is so special about her? Why should her children not suffer the loss of a parent and mine should?
No, like a i said. You real what you sow.

I agree. So why do people think they deserve special treatment?

Sorry to hear that. I’ve had men and women open doors for me.
I wouldn’t go to war for any woman i wasn’t related to or married to.
Again, sorry to hear that. I was against the War in Vietnam, yet I’ve gone to war, for my nation 1967-1969.
Why should i give a seat on a bus to a woman. Is she not just as capable as me?
You don’t have to; it’s not the law. You needn’t do anything for anyone else unless you truly believe that you should do so.

You don’t have to show any courtesy to anyone, not anyone on earth to whom you don’t feel like showing courtesy; it’s not the law. You choose to do what you will. We all do.

Not a duty, a choice.

You can be a romantic if you choose.
You give up your seat to a woman on a bus or a lifeboat, just as you hold a door for a lady or walk on the street side of the sidewalk.
Those are not all the same!
But of course, men of our age have forgotten that.
Yes, and rightly so. Women should have no special privilege on account of their sex unless they are obviously pregnant or old or infirm. The last two ought to be reason to give up a seat for a man BTW.

Many men and women have been convinced by the lie. It’s easier or it’s more pleasurable. Or they are taught to believe it’s about power - equality means having just as much power as the opposite sex.

The two sexes were made to be complimentary but that is argued against in many movies and TV shows. Even songs:

It’s very sad to see real trust and real friendship and real love disappear because of the establishment of a Marxist-Anarchist philosophy.

When men and women become enslaved to the current media created culture, they often lose their real identities. It’s time to live life more abundantly:

Much of what society used to call ‘good manners’ and ‘chivalry’ was nothing more than convention.

Societies require conventions in goodly measure so they can function properly. They offer security and predictability in our dealings with others.

The conventions of society were enforced by a commonly accepted standard. If someone broke a common convention, they usually heard about it in quick measure from other members of society. It was a quick and efficient way for regulating a society. Now that many of the previously accepted conventions of society have been broken down, and, I might add, in this context, at the behest of some vociferous women, it is now OK for someone like you to write that manners and chivalry are purely up to the individual. The trouble is, when conventions break down, they need to be replaced by legal rules if they are to be maintained. When conventions like ‘give up your place on the lifeboat for women and children’ are lost, they can’t be replaced legally because they would be discriminatory. The strange thing is, most people still think that there should be a positive discriminatory attitude towards women and children and so, all round the world, the Italian capitano is being villified. More so now when it is coming to light just how unchivalrous he really is.

So you can make statements about manners and chivalry being a matter of personal choice, but most people think that attitude sucks and that it reeks of personal selfishness.
