ac clare oh how well said. :clapping: Great description of Redemption and Salvation.I understand your point, and IMO it’s a valid one. But the truth is we are actually saved by faith and works (love and obedience as actions of the will and fruits of our Faith)…they are two sides of the same coin.
I worry though that you may be confusing salvation and redemption, which is a fundamental error of Protestantism. *“It is a big burden lifted off us when we realise this, knowing that Jesus has already paid our debt…” * Jesus did pay for our sins on the cross; this is our redemption, a free gift. To achieve salvation however, we must accept the free gift and cooperate with God’s grace by believing, trusting and obeying Him of our own free will.
So I agree that we should be ever joyous about our redemption and ever hopeful for our salvation. We do NOT in fact “know” that we are already saved…We know that we are redeemed and that we can be saved through the grace of God. That’s our hope as Christians.
