Disgusting. Just a few short steps to euthanasia of the disabled, sick, elderly, possibly anyone the government doesn’t feel are productive members of society. Sounds a bit like Hitler, doesn’t it?😦
 
If a child can’t consent to sex, how on earth can they consent to suicide. This is literally murder.
 
I don’t know Belgian laws but in our country a child does not have the capacity to contract for a cell phone much less to be murdered by the state. In this country they can’t even go into a tanning booth. But I guess since our country allows underage girls to procure a murder of THEIR child, we shouldn’t point fingers.

It’s really a terrible thing that this would even be considered.

I’m not at all surprised this is happening. It is a logical consequence of the widespread acceptance of abortion. I wonder what will come next.
 
This is just too sad for words. I thought Belgium was a Catholic Country…Guess not.
 
Nominally, the people of Belgium are still Catholic, but their practice of the faith is rapidly on the decline.

The latest figures from Leuven University Professor Marc Hooghe show that baptisms in Belgium declined from 93.6 percent of births in 1967 to 57.6 percent in 2009. Religious marriages suffered an even worse fate, going from 86.1 percent to 26.2 percent over the same period. And church attendance fell from some 43 percent to just 5 percent.

:eek: Satan’s influence is taking over that continent. I rarely hear of any European Cardinals taking a stand on these issues. Has anything been said in response? We have the USCCB but I am not sure which body speaks for Europe’s Catholics.

The support for this law shows the power of misinformation. I suspect this was promoted as mercy killing just as "Assisted Suicide"was promoted in our state. They trot out all of these horrible and grim stories of people in agony during their last days of life without bothering to inform that pain control, emotional support, and hospice is a far better alternative for those facing a terminal illness. At least our version is done only for adults and thus many people voted as they did regarding abortion…I don’t want this but who am I to deny it to someone else… ugh…

This is what happens when a country gets taken over by the left. Expect the same in America if there isn’t a radical change in the current admin. Americans need to wake up.

I believe each country in Europe has its own bishops’ conference.

In this particular case, Archbishop Andre-Joseph Leonard, as head of the Belgian conference of Catholic bishops, condemned the proposal last month. He joined with other Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders in a joint statement which warned against the legislation being considered…

👍 Yes and we’re already seeing it. People laughed at Sarah Palin’s comment about death panels but in effect the rationing of care is the plan to reduce costs. Even Obama’s cruel comments about well if Grandma is 90 instead of operating just give her a pain pill tells you what his philosophy is regarding the sick and vulnerable.

I just hope it’s not too late…three more years of this…:eek:

This would have been unthinkable in any civilized country only a short time ago. The slippery slope from the contraceptive/abortion mentality is delivering many souls to eternal torment.

The size of the vote is extraordinary. I will take several miracles to reverse the loss of respect for the gift of life.

Doctors already assist when a patient is actually dying in severe pain so what circumstances are they talking about? Is this an easy option for a depressed mother who is in deep shock with having a permanently handicapped baby at birth and doctors have an easy option to offer ‘to save future health costs’ and all In the interest of the baby who probably wouldnt want to live! When abortion was brought in it was meant to be for extreme circumstances - now look at it! This is just an excuse to ‘cull’ the populations to save costs as war isnt such an easy option. Kill millions to relieve debt crisis in the name of ‘over population’ nonsense. I think this is a policy for the few who control the banking system to deal with their usury system of finance-a world war to cull millions to create an economic boom-now difficult to get away with world war so how else do you reduce the populations? Mass extermination of the young old and disabled! I think the person behind this policy financed and credited hitler. There isnt one primeminister or president that gets into office without signing up to the promotion of gay marriage abortion and euthanasia. I think this regime is getting exposed and the world is seeing the need for 'true governance’and GOds Kingdom! Life outside the church will always come to this. But i think as old societies collapsed in the past this one will too and catholism will spread as people see the difference in that kind of true leadership!
