Well, I still think it’s weird that I got such a high score on Mormon:mad: . I could understand more if I got your list. How would Mormon even get in there after answering the Trinity question?
There where a few questions regarding God’s nature.

Which one are you talking about and how did you answer?

I have an idea but I just want to be sure…

The first one, I answered that God is a spirit(does not have a body). The one about the Incarnation, I answered one Incarnation. The one that had the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit as an option, that is what I chose.

Actually… I’m kinda surprised at my results  I guess I’m full of contradictions, like my artsy college friends think I’m a facist neo-con, while my semi-retired neighbors think I’m a tree-hugging hippie.

I just dunno?

The first one, I answered that God is a spirit(does not have a body). The one about the Incarnation, I answered one Incarnation. The one that had the Trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit as an option, that is what I chose.
Okay this is what I picked:

Question: What is the number and nature of the deity (God, gods, higher power)?

Answer: Only one God–a corporeal spirit (has a body), supreme, personal God Almighty, the Creator.

I picked this answer because Christ is fully human and fully God. Christ ascended into heaven body and soul.

Question: Are there human incarnation(s) of God (or of gods/goddesses)?
Answer: One incarnation.

Again, I picked this answer because of Christ.

Question: Worship
Answer: God–three persons of one essence.

I picked this one because I didn’t like the wording on the other option:

God the Father, His Son, the Holy Spirit—each a distinct essence.

This option (in red) to me sound non-trinity. It sounded more like a JW type of answer. If that makes any sense to you. (I but in bold the part I’m talking about. Do you see how the second option sounds more like of JW type answer?)

I don’t know much about Mormons. Are their views of God similar to JW?

not really similar… I think you got Mormon because you said God has a Body… They were referring (as far as I can tell) to God the Father. I get this from the question about God’s incarnation… One incarnation (meaning Jesus).

Hi Syele,
Actually I’m happy with my scores.
Here are my scores,
  1. Eastern Orthodox (100%) 2. Roman Catholic (100%) 3. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (90%) 4. Orthodox Quaker (75%) 5. Seventh Day Adventist (75%) 6. Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (Mormons) (66%) 7. Jehovah’s Witness (66%) 8. Orthodox Judaism (63%) 9. Mainline to Liberal Christian Protestants (59%) 10. Hinduism (57%) 11. As you can see I got 100% RC/ OE. This is okay with me especially the 100% Catholic, because I am Catholic. I was trying to help lak611 figure out why she scored what she consider “high” on Mormon. Lak611 is Catholic, and is not happy with her scores.

Sorry I meant to say that to lak611, I must have hit the quote wrong.

I retook the quiz, and answered God is three Persons of one essence this time. I still answered that God does not have a body (that’s what I said last time). The only difference was I answered three Persons of one essence instead of Trinity of distinct essences. I like my results better now. This time I am:
  1. Eastern Orthodox (100%)
  2. Roman Catholic (100%)
  3. Mainline to Conservative Christian/Protestant (98%)
  4. Seventh Day Adventist (87%)
  5. Orthodox Quaker (85%)
It’s funny because I answered the same on confession (still said confess all sins but not necessarily to cleric, but this time I got 100% Catholic and last time I got 100% Conservative Protestant.

That’s okay because if I answer that question with confess all sins but not neccessarily to cleric I get 100% Conservative Protestant and 96% RC…

However, I have the feeling now if I changed my one answer to One God (no body) I may just get 100% RC with a not neccessarily to cleric answer to the confession. I’ll try it in a little bit and see if my feelings are right.

I answered the same on God (no body) both times. My difference was on worship God (first time I said Trinity with distinct essence) (second time I said one God three persons of same essence). I answered same on confession both times. So, Trinity gave me 100% Conservative Protestant, 90% Mormon. One God three persons of same essence gave me 100% Catholic, 98% Conservative Protestant and Mormon nowhere to be seen!

I got Mormon on both list…
And I got 100% Catholic both times…

It must be the combo of things that I’m picking that is keeping Mormons on the list. Also, it’s funny how just by changing that one answer about God to “no body” I can pick confession “not neccessarily to cleric” and still be 100% RC.

Trinity is the key difference. And that difference is why they are not considered Christian. Someone mentioned it as a Unitarian/Arian heresy, Jesus as God without also having a human nature.

Which fits in with their thing about an immediately post-Resurrection Jesus preaching in the Americas. However, my time-line indicates Jesus coming to North America in His presence in the Sacraments at the time a bishop was appointed for Greenland amd points West. 1052.

The shoe fits. Good thing I am Catholic.

Yeah, instead of fretting about the middle stuff, there might be some things to learn about the bottom stuff. Religious fundamentalism seems to be indicated by having maybe three high percentages, with a big split, then having the rest strung out starting at maybe 70%.

i think this was a pretty good test… it is interesting that it groups similar religions like RCC and EO, or Judaism and Islam which both reject Christ…

wow! I believe that’s the first time I’ve seen 100% for the top 3.

I’ve seen 100% EO and 100% RC together, but I’ve never seen another 100% in the mix, until now!

I have no problem agreeing to any extent with Protestants and non-Christians.

If I am 71% Hindu, 62% Mormon, 58% JW or 53% Liberal Christian Protestant it is because they all have some truth. They just don’t have the whole truth. The parts we disagree on is what makes me Catholic. 👍
