Michael_Thoma:
Well you see, Benny is on the left “filled with the spirit” and Copelands on the right “filled with the spirit”. I guess Benny’s spirit was stronger than Copes cause he knocked Cope down: 1,2,3… the winner and still champion…
Poor Benny - more bad PR:

From Kyle Williams current column:

Hinn recently had a crusade in Bangalore, India, where over 7 million attended. But days later we heard stories about religious fraud, like this reported by the Times of India: “Col. Samuel suffers from immobility of the right side of the body. Hoping for a miracle, he, with wife in tow, managed to shuffle up to the stage – only to be jostled away by an organizer who said: ‘Only if you are healed can you go on stage. If you’re not healed by Jesus, your time has not come.’”

Benny Hinn brings his religious bizarrerie to millions of the poorest people in countries like India, and when it’s over, he flies aboard his private jet, to his luxury cars, and home to his multi-million dollar house in Southern California or presidential suites in ritzy hotels. In 1997, he told CNN that he earns between $500,000 and $1 million a year. And maybe this is the most honest image of Hinn – the money is where it’s at. …"

Geez!! I actually know people that went to that event in Banglore. Man, he irks me!! What a phony!

I have been to a Benny Hinn Crusade in LA and it was very impressive. One of his brothers came on stage and they talked about their family. (Being Palestinian could mean being Arab/Greek or anything else, it’s not a race but a collection of people. Like being American!).
Also I’ve heard him say he went to a Catholic school when young and was taught by nuns.
We watch him on TV and I sent in a prayer request. My prayer was answered and I knew that it was because of this request.
At the end of the Crusade evening (which was free and no collection for money made) he was on stage with his wife and young people were going up to be Slain, there was a very powerful spiritual and holy atmosphere.
If you judge him because of a TV programme, you are doing an injustice. A lot of lies and distortions are shownon TV to make it interesting.

And it hits you suddenly. Unmistakeable.

Why is this a mystery for you? It is not Benny Hinn who heals. Benny Hinn never claims to heal. It is God who heals. The healings usually happen in the praise and worship part of the crusade. And believe me once you have felt that presence you’ll never forget it. Sometimes the healings happen on a bus travelling toward the crusade. Or an airplane. Or in the hotel room.

In any case, Hinn claims that the greatest healing is salvation.

I don’t know what people’s problems are about healing. Healing happens all the time. You hear of countless people making a pilgrimmage to Lourdes or Fatima in gratitude for a healing for which they prayed. You hear countless stories of people praying for a healing and receiving it. Or even not praying for a healing and receiving it. And, yes, you hear stories of people who pray for healing and do not receive it. Remember that Jesus did not heal everyone. There were crowds and crowds of people around him all the time, but who among them did he heal?

In the end, it is the Lord’s will which is done. If Benny Hinn says ‘here am I, Lord,’ when the Lord calls, then so be it. As for the money: have we, as Catholics, not heard this criticism many times before…you know, the one about the Vatican treasures?

What exactly did you request?

You know what? We’ve said this a million times and it’s not even scriptural - all because of Job: “The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord” [Job 1:21]. I have news for you: that is not Bible, that’s not Bible. The Lord giveth and never taketh away. And just because he said, “Blessed be the name of the Lord,” don’t mean that he’s right. When he said, “Blessed be the name,” he was just being religious. And being religious don’t mean you’re right. (Benny Hinn program, Trinity Broadcasting Network, Nov. 3, 1990)

Benny Didn’t Read the Next Verse:

Job 1:22 - “In all this, Job did not sin by charging God with wrongdoing.”

Benny Hinn: Man, I feel revelation knowledge already coming on me here. Life your
hands. Something new is going to happen here today. I felt it just as I walked down here. Holy Spirit, take over in the name of Jesus…God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person; and he is a triune being by himself separate from the Son and the Holy Ghost. Say, what did you say? Here it, hear it, hear it. See, God the Father is a person, God the Son is a person, God the Holy Ghost is a person. But each one of them is a triune being by Himself. If I can shock you - and maybe I should - there’s nine of them. Huh, what did you say? Let me explain: God the Father, ladies and gentlemen, is a person with his own personal spirit, with his own personal soul, and his own personal spirit body. You say, Huh, I never heard that. Well, you think you’re in this church to hear things you’ve heard for the last 50 years? You can’t argue with the Word, can you? It’s all in the Word. (Benny Hinn, Praise The Lord, October 3, 1990)

“Adam was a super being when God created him. I don’t know whether people know this, but he was the first Superman that really ever lived. First of all, the Scriptures declare clearly that he had dominion over the fowls of the air, the fish of the sea—which means he used to fly. Of course, how can he have dominion over the birds and not be able to do what they do? The word “dominion” in the Hebrew clearly declares that if you have dominion over a subject, that you do everything that subject does. In other words, that subject, if it does someting you cannot do, you don’t have dominion over it. I’ll prove it further. Adam not only flew, he flew to space. He was—with one thought he would be on the moon.” (Benny Hinn, Praise the Lord program on TBN December 26, 1991)

I didn’t think anything could top the “9” Triune entities but the mental images of Adam flying around just cracked me up.

Thanks for these they are beauts!

If Neo could do it, why not Adam!

Well I sez to myself; IF this were pre fig leaf - it must have been quite a sight and if is was post fig leaf, I doubt it would have stayed on in the breeze between earth and space…but then great minds worry abut these little details y’know.

Carefully watch a Benny Hinn crusade meeting. Hinn nearly always dresses in a white, quasi-clerical style suit, whereas his attendants dress in dark coloured ordinary suits. He clearly structures the whole event so that he is at the centre throughout. The attendants appear to carefully select who they will bring up to the stage - only those who will say and do the “right” things. According to first hand testimony from some who have been there, they were not allowed near the stage because they had not been healed.

The whole event is a disgrace and an insult to genuine Christianity. It shows no real love for the sick and suffering but only seeks to glorify Hinn and his empire. It is pointless to argue that the Hinn events do good because God may heal people. Of course God heals - but He does not restrict who He allows to approach Him for healing. Hinn carefully sets up the whole event, so that only those who appear to be healed by his touch, are allowed on stage.
I really believe that this man is a self seeking, money hungry, showman; who is doing untold damage to the Christian faith in the eyes of outsiders who can see through his charade.

Prots always go to the indulgeces card on catholics but Benny Hinn and the many Word of faith movements rampid in evangelica circles are far more damanging to the faith than anything we had going in the middle ages. This makes selling of indulgences look like stealing from the cookie jar. Hinn is stealing from Fort KNox literally.
