But we’re working on you Aquina! Youll come around-I know because i am about to cast an imperius spell on you… If you find yourslef walking around saying "I love Harry Potter " and “Estesbob rocks” youll know I was sucessful.
You had to threaten a curse, didn’t you? Now you’re really going to get the anti-hp people going, now.

Besides, the imperious curse is ILLEGAL = you will end up in Azkaban if you cast it!

Naw…I’m staying with Fr. Amorth on this one. 😛

Besides, I already say that you rock…except when you bring your stupid dinosaur into the clubhouse.

😛 :rotfl: 😛

I also love Order of the Phoenix, and can’t wait to see how they do the Weasley twins dramatic exit from Hogwarts. It’s my favorite one so far. While I loved Half Blood Prince, and I have my suspicions as to who RAB is, it made me cry, and therefore is lower than OooP. My book is preordered to, and I’ve already taken the day off from work to read it.
I know who RAB is!!

Well since the Dementors left its not as bad as it used to be. If Aquina starts quacking like a duck i aassume that means my spell failed?

Now you see everyone? Don’t you see how HP has corrupted Bob? It just goes to show that impressionable youngsters shouldn’t read the books.

OK, I know I’m opening a can of worms here, what with the fact that some of you still believe Harry Potter is evil. But I think with the final book coming in July, I’d like to know which book you guys like best. I thought Goblet of Fire was great.
I voted for PofA. It was the last one of a manageable length, and at the same time it set the stage for the increasingly dark and complex books to follow. I found GofA too long and unwieldy, and I thought the plot twist with Professor Moody was really unbelievable (“unbelievable” in the sense that it undermined the suspension of disbelief necessary for “secondary creation”). When you have one character impersonating another, you need to give the reader some acquaintance with the character being impersonated. Otherwise you’re just cheating when you ask the reader to believe that the people who knew the real Mad-Eye Moody (such as Dumbledore) were perfectly fooled. I felt cheated when I got to the end of GofA, in spite of its many excellent qualities. It felt too contrived.

I have not yet read books 5 or 6 more than once, and so can’t adequately judge them, especially since they are so long and complex. I found the fight at the end of book 5 too much of a stock fantasy blast-em-up, but that’s one that I really need to reread. I was very impressed with book 6 and it might rival book 3 on a rereading.

“The Order of the Phoenix” is the one I liked the best!

I can’t wait for July and the last book to get here!

What are her qualifications to lecture us on catholic doctrine. She has no degrees, no courses of study in the faith-in fact her only qualification seems to be she was a lousy catholic who has seen the light and nows wants to lecture all of us who never left in the first place,.

She reminds me of the newbies in AA-6 months sober and ready to lecture the world on sobriety.
I have no idea why you are reacting so negatively to her. She is telling her story to young people so they don’t go down the same wrong path she did. If anything, she is more qualified to teach on the subject than those who have never strayed. She is doing a great service to our youth and how someone could object to this is difficult to understand. She is perhaps doing more good in the world than you or I.

The idea that she is doing good is your opinion. Based on what I have read about her she has no qualifications to tell our kids about anything. My Brother taught for many years and complained about the “Drunk of the Month” club. That is where about once a month the school would bring in a recovered alchoholic, or drug adict, crook, etc and have them talk to the kids. I would much rather have someone who stuck within the law or the faith talk to my kids.

Half Blood Prince, hands down. An incredible book and the developments therein completely unforeseen.
I know who RAB is!!
Everyone knows who RAB is. At least, everyone who spends time on HP fan sites does. 😉 It’s been practically confirmed, unless there’s one absolutely gigantic coincidence coming in book 7.
