What does a sexual assault at 17 have to do with a 53 year old’s capabilities as a supreme court justice?

I guess this whole thread is filled with saints who have never sinned and have never crossed the line with the opposite sex.

You’re right. I just think this whole thing is very petty. There were no charges and it happened when he was 17
I understand. I don’t know what happened. I just think the delay in reporting doesn’t ipso facto mean it’s a false allegation.

The point wasn’t so much whether he was guilty (which if that was the impression I gave from my other posts in this thread, I apologize), but the reactions of supporters who don’t seem to understand why sexually assaulting a teenage girl is bad.

raises hand For me, I DEFINITELY don’t want someone who committed a sexual assault on my country’s Supreme Court.

I agree. There’s a lot of taboo against reporting. it’s hard for women to come forward, it’s embarrassing and many won’t believe her or make it worse for her in some way.

But even if it’s true, he was 17 and he crossed the line. almost everyone has crossed the line with the opposite sex at some point

how would you know? maybe when you’re 53 your accuser will come forward.

So even if it did happen, it doesn’t matter, because it’s just sexual assault. Not, like, anything serious .

Once again, we’re proving Simcha’s point.
Are juvenile records expunged? Asked and Answered, thank you.

It’s way more common for men because we’re the ones who make the first move. Sometimes we go in for the kiss and get rejected. Or I’ve gone out with women, got drunk with them, and made out with them. That’s technically sexual assault since we were both drunk. Crossing the line happens and it’s not so black and white.

Now, she has no corroborating witnesses. All 4 people who she claims are there say no including a lifetime friend, Keyser.

Criminal records are expunged for juveniles? Are they not? That is an important point, besides, it looks like this didn’t happen at all.

She’s afraid to fly but went to college in Hawaii and was planning to go to New Zealand.

Her case is falling like dominoes, she may not even show up.

Also, to repeat, when you are done wrong, go through something traumatic like this, you tend to remember. Nothing she says is proven.

Getting drunk and snogging isn’t pinning a woman down and covering her mouth to keep her from screaming.

wasn’t he at a high school party? from what I heard they were all drinking.

Now that none of her witnesses know anything about it, what’s the flip side? How does it feel to falsely accuse someone? Then, would Kavanaugh be the one victimized here?

Kind of like that book, “To kill a mockingbird”.
