By 17 pretty much all normal humans understand right from wrong, can make informed moral and ethical judgments. I knew right from wrong when I was 17. And so did those who I hung around with. I knew a girl who had been sexually assaulted by some teenagers and I don’t recall anyone in my peer group going “well it’s okay, 'cause we’re teenagers.”
As I said before, if you wish to question the veracity of the claim, I am sympathetic. I’m on the fence. I don’t think Kavanaugh is a bad man, nor do I particularly like the timing of the revelations, true or not. And that should be the defense, not this frankly disgusting attempt to defend the alleged actions as if all teenage boys are sex fiends that eventually grow out of it.
