Bible corruption/islamic point of view

Hello to all…as we already know, the muslims accuse us of having a corrupted Bible. I’d like to read the muslims’ response as to where in the quran does it say the Bible is corrupt…and whether Allah did promise to keep his word or not. Am only interested in islamic point of view, so please do not copy/paste irrelevant posts about different Bible translation or canons. thx and God bless.

There are many other verses that tell us this, search on the WhyIslam.org forum and this question has been answered many times.

mohammad accused some jews of concealing the truth; that is, not revealing the truth of the meaning of their scriptures; so this does not prove corruption; we need some verses about textual corruption.

Why should we abandon Jesus Christ Our Lord and Our God - through Whom we have forgiveness of our sins - and turn to Mohammed, who leaves us in them by encouraging us to ignore Jesus’ teaching ?​

We have light already, in Jesus Himself, for He is the Light of the world. ##

I just did a quick google and there are something like 50 odd English translations of the Koran that I could see online. When I have time I’ll do some comparison of all 50 versions and see what comes out of it. Should be interesting.

Exactly!, but they’ll come and say that Mohammed was illiterate and so on and so on!

i personally do not think he was illiterate…if you read the exact verse before the one Gurrato gave, you’ll see that the “ummiyyun” or “illeterate” does not mean illeterate but he referes as such to people who do not have a religious book…this adjective is always linked to a religious book and does not mean illeterate…ummiyyun in arabic means “from nations” as well…umma=nation.
 
Example:
He it is Who hath sent among the **unlettered ones (ummiyyeena) ** a messenger of their own, to recite unto them His revelations and to make them grow, and to teach them the Scripture and wisdom, though heretofore they were indeed in error manifest, S. 62:2 Pickthall

Unlettered here cannot literally mean that muhammad was sent to people who couldn’t read or write, since there were hundreds of Arabs who were reading and writing both before and during muhammad’s time. In fact, Muslim traditions assert that muhammad had Arab scribes who would write down the Quran for him

If they argue with you, then say, “I have simply submitted myself to GOD; I and those who follow me.” You shall proclaim to those who received the scripture, as well as those who did not (ummiyyeena), “Would you submit?” If they submit, then they have been guided, but if they turn away, your sole mission is to deliver this message. GOD is Seer of all people. S. 3:20 Khalifa

And this is a Book which We have revealed as a blessing: so follow it and be righteous, that ye may receive mercy: Lest ye should say: “The Book was sent down to two Peoples before us, and for our part, we remained unacquainted with all that they learned by assiduous study:” Or lest ye should say: “If the Book had only been sent down to us, we should have followed its guidance better than they.” Now then hath come unto you a clear (sign) from your Lord, - and a guide and a mercy: then who could do more wrong than one who rejecteth Allah’s signs, and turneth away therefrom? In good time shall We requite those who turn away from Our signs, with a dreadful penalty, for their turning away. S. 6:155-157

the Quran explains in what sense Muhammad was unlettered:

And thou (O Muhammad) wast not a reader of any scripture before it, nor didst thou write it with thy right hand, for then might those have doubted, who follow falsehood. But it is clear revelations in the hearts of those who have been given knowledge, and none deny Our revelations save wrong-doers. S. 28:48-49 Pickthall

And some hadiths confirm this fact that ummiyyun does not mean unlettered but refers to people who do not have scriptures and some argue it refers to gentils from word umma=nation.

Hello Joseph, in my first question, i said i am interested in the quran regarding this topic…these answers are covered in the link Daniel gave under the other thread regarding corruption as well…if you could please prove to me from quran about textual corruption…

YUSUFALI: Can ye (o ye men of Faith) entertain the hope that they will believe in you?- Seeing that a party of them heard the Word of Allah, and perverted it knowingly after they understood it.
PICKTHAL: Have ye any hope that they will be true to you when a party of them used to listen to the word of Allah, then used to change it, after they had understood it, knowingly?
SHAKIR: Do you then hope that they would believe in you, and a party from among them indeed used to hear the Word of Allah, then altered it after they had understood it, and they know (this).

Also brother I have one question for you why you believe in Trinity despite its not even mentioned in the bible in any version of any language. think brother please think may God guide you to the truth.
