No we are not “in charge” of who is sent but as faithful Catholics I think we can register our dismay at the selection of two public heretics with respect to life issues. I think it showed an incredible lack of respect for the Church but then I would expect no more from Obama who has declared war against her.

I’m not begrudging anyone. My point, and some have missed it, is the "ooooo I hope the Pope gives them a “what for” and a wham bam slap upside the head when he meets with them! I hope they get in line with the most hardline of Bishops at communion and he flat out turns them away. That is wishing ill will on another human being whether you agree with them or not. They are representatives from America. And remark from a poster about the Kennedy tag line he/she uses. Really? Maybe the Kennedy’s should pull all their money out of the Church, that would make everyone happy, now wouldn’t it. Obama has not declared war against the Catholic Church or any Church for that matter. The President of the US represents “all” the people, not just people from a particular faith. The Pope represents “all” Catholics, in standing and out standing. He is the leader of our faith. Perhaps he will meet with our representatives who are Catholic and speak to them “PRIVATELY” on this issue. As it should be.

Both Biden and Pelosi have caused scandal by promoting abortion, by claiming untruths regarding the Church’s position. I understand why, politically, they were selected but I am disappointed that they are representing this country’s Catholics.

I truly hope you don’t think that the Church should accommodate heresy in order to get the Kennedys’ money More than thirty pieces of silver mind you but not on par with losing our collective soul. Aside from that Jack Kennedy is a far cry from the current crop who are fine with abortion, gay marriage, and other un-Catholic activities.

Obama IS at war with the Church, and that has been stated by our Bishops in their 100% opposition to the HHS Mandate and in Cardinal Timothy Dolan stating publically that Obama “misled” him regarding religious accommodation. I could spend the next 5000 words detailing his numerous attacks on religious liberty but that isn’t the thread. However anyone who thinks Obama wants the Church to operate in peace and non-interference has not been paying attention.

President Obama may be the President but he does not represent me in any way shape or form. I detest the man’s views and feel his agenda is quite destructive to our Church and our beloved country. I can’t help but feeling that he is delighted with the two “representatives” to Pope Francis Inaugural Mass because he knows the internal and external conflict it creates. I am praying for Biden and Pelosi’s conversion. I wish I could do more.

He sent ‘progressive’ Catholics (and I use the term generously) with a specific purpose in mind. As Vice President, Biden makes sense in terms of protocol. But Pelosi? If Father Flagler was a U.S. government official, President Obama would have sent him along too.
