Geez, Frank, how much do you know about Frank Drebin? Did you know the Church holds a strict ban against contraception? I’m sure you do. But you chose the name Frank Drebin. I guess you missed the scene where Frank and his lady love (played by Priscilla Presley) pulled a huge condom over their heads to practice safe sex. Interesting.

It is one thing to “teach” someone the error of their ways, it’s truly another to teach as Jesus did. What false information did BlueCane post? What false information did I post?

Glad you aren’t running the boards as anyone who disagrees with you would be banned. This is a discussion not a shouting a match. It is evident you do not care for the President, Ms. Pelosi, the Kennedy’s or VP Biden. I don’t care for John Ashcroft, Don Rumsfeld, Al Franken, Jesse Jackson or Al Sharpton. However, if the President chose to send either one of these people to represent the US, it would be his decision. I would not come on a message board, slamming the President’s choice (for which I have no control over), nor would I wish the public humiliation of said representatives.

I would also know that the Pope would have the brains, common courtesy and grace bestowed upon him by his position as the Vicar of Christ to handle the situation appropriately.

I agree with the Pope, and the merciful priest. They are the authoritative men of the Church. We can assist our brothers, and sisters, with fraternal correction, but that takes a one on one communication to begin with and not a third party communication by judging the sins on a public forum that those need correcting are not known to be on.

Please. That’s what every topic on the Catholic News and World News board is about. Something is discussed, and people give different opinions. We also have a responsibility to correct Catholic teaching not just for the person who may be misled, but for others watching and learning. There are many more souls beyond the politician in question we need to be concerned with. The reality of life is some people are wrong, some beliefs are wrong, and we have an obligation to correct and remedy what we can, so long as we have Catholic motivations at heart. We are not called to let sin go unchecked (especially our own of course), since every sin, no matter how small, effects every other person alive.

We are called to address all sin. Not simply focus on ours, and not simply focus on other people’s.

I agree if you are just posting to besmirch, it probably doesn’t do much good.

Apparently pointing out anything wrong is considered condemning, now? Let’s try and stick to reality and stop these childish nuanced games that make us feel better because we aren’t “judging” anyone or “condemning” anyone. That kind of attitude is what has allowed the earth to become such a moral dump to begin with.

While I believe that people like Biden and Pelosi should be denied communion, I would not be surprised if it isn’t going to happen this coming week when they arrive in Rome. I say that because a decision like that would have to come from the Pope and considering he was just elected 4 days ago would not leave him much time to prepare for this.

I bring up preparation because something like this isn’t something you do on the spur of the moment. When the time comes for Biden, Pelosi and others to be denied communion there is going to be a backlash and in order for the Church to explain it to the Catholic world will require some time for preparation.

For those who don’t like the idea of denying communion to pro abortion Catholic politicians, consider that Canon law 915 exists for a reason and people who are much wiser than us (Burke) and knowledgeable about Canon law say otherwise.

Like I said in a prior post, I would think that a general announcement would be made regarding proper disposition prior to receiving communion. Also, I think, if that happens coupled with the fact that this is the PAPAL inauguration, that they would refrain. At least I certainly hope so.
