It is said that those who enter Purgatory will experience pain tinged with joy…
so not a place where flames of fire burn you in agonizing pain until you are cleansed of your sins.

What you posted is the explination of what is Purgatory, I’ve heard before. Some say it’s a punishment that cleans you of sin… others say it’s not a punishment but a cleansing to purify you of sin so you can enter heaven… the agonizing pain of flames is the rumor that wasnt true.

I think you mean temporary, my friend. “Temporal” relates to worldly things as opposed to spiritual.

Not at all, my friend: “temporal” refers to the punishment exacted within time, as opposed to the eternal punishment of Hell.

Oh, yes yes. Silly me. I almost never hear it used in this way. Pardon me lol.

It would list it as a synonym because it is using the second definition.
2 : to regard with great or extravagant respect, honor, or devotion
This is Webster. If you look at the definition of venerate
1 : respect or awe inspired by the dignity, wisdom, dedication, or talent of a person.
They are only synonyms when the meaning is respect etc. But not if worship is being used for a divine person.

Check out “Horus reads the Internet”, and the part 2 to “Horus ruins Christmas”.
