Quit arguing about semantics and discuss the article,Mr.OuvilleYou are discussing the speaker instead of reviewing the accuracy of what he or she said. That’s ad hominem.

Well it was the way Christ did it sometimes!I agree with virtually every word of the article. Spewing venom and hatred is no way to spread Christ’s message. Donohue does not speak for me and every time I see him put forth as speaking for Catholics I cringe.
Yay!I knew one of you would jump on the bandwagon-there should be dozens, judging by recent posts on his rough Irish Catholic style. Are you even a Catholic? You don’t ID yourself as one.If you are,why not/.If you aren’t,what business is it of yours?I agree with virtually every word of the article. ad hominem lite

He manipulated those fools into making him a household name.If he didn’t do it would you Mr.Ouiville or you iThank God for Bill Donohue!!
The media just can’t stand it that he beats them at their own game.
His record speaks for itself, the Catholic League are only relevant because of him, before he took charge I had never even heard of them, and I suspect neither had a lot of people.I think the Catholic League is important, I’m just not sure Donahue is the man for the job.
That’s really part and parcel of the whole media dance, whether we like it or not. I know a certain pro-life advocate who operates similarly. Donahue knows how to get noticed. I think “shock-and-awe” is the technical term.I think you have hit the nail on the head. Father Jonathon Morris is now frequently on Fox News to combat tirades against the Church. He is mild-mannered, polite and accurately portrays what comes from the Vatican. I always agree with what he says BUT it is not memorable.
When Bill Donahue throws a hissy fit, I remember. And I guess the detractors do too, lest there would not be a campaigne to get rid of him. When he retires, I hope there is one just like him to continue to fight for the Church.
I’ll be praying for you!If I am baptised Catholic next Easter…
I think that is the fairest response I’ve seen. How many people do we agree (or disagree) with, 100% of the time? Sometimes I disagree with Donahue’s message. Sometimes I disagree with Donahue’s delivery. Sometimes I disagree with both. Sometimes I agree with one or the other, or both.Bill is a classic example of a proverbial diamond in the rough. His message is good, but his delivery and presentation are too often frightfully inept. The result is that his effectiveness is often compromised.
I thought you don’t read articles from partisan sources…Well, the article makes some strong and accurate criticisms of Donahue. I don’t know if they rise to the level of requiring him to resign, however.
I don’t know why folks are discussing the article author.
