I don’t know if it has been ruled down in every state, a number of States have passed such a law.

I wonder if it would be unconstitutional if the state paid for it. Probably, but maybe not as it would not impose a financial burden on the mother.

I doubt it The Texas law overturned only required an ultrasound be shown to the woman if one had been taken

It’s a legal battle but the Ultrasound Law in Texas has been upheld as well. I don’t know what the current status is.
Women in East Texas, the Rio Grande Valley and west of San Antonio would have to drive hundreds of miles for multiple visits, because a 2011 law put in place a 24-hour waiting period following a mandatory ultrasound, plus follow-up visits for women using the abortion pill.

So this latter August 2014 article refers to the 2011 ultra sound law being in effect.
 
Don’t they say most abortions include an ultra sound to begin with? I believe so.

As of November 2014, Guttmacher Institute has this info:

Provider is usually required to provide Ultrasound so that seems to make it included in the cost, whether one aborts or not. Idaho, Ohio and so on have requirements.
 
You know Big Abortion (the most evil of the much attested to *“evil corporations” *IMO) is in trouble when they live in dread fear of letting those same women whom they SAY " … ought to know best what to do …" have access to an ultrasound first.

It’s as if they know that ONE little game of peek-a-boo between the mother and her child
is enough to topple their putrescent house of cards and hurt their (cough cough) “business”.

Better yet - all those who claim to be pro-life should be forced to pay additional taxes and contribute monthly to the women who don’t have enough money to feed their children as well as those children in orphanages. Let’s call it a children tax.

This bill will never pass.

By your logic then abortion itself wouldn’t be available because the poor woman couldn’t afford it and those with means could …obviously the poor have access to abortion now thus if the law required the ultrasound they would have access to that as well.

Planned parenthood actually targets poor neighborhoods … Its a sad fact …

There are people (individuals) and organizations that will provide assistance to mothers in need …abortion is never the only option …society just (falsely) tells women I is not only a choice but the best choice …
 
Many pro-life organizations offer free ultrasounds and I know I and many others would personally pay for an ultrasound in the attempt to save a baby’s life

The Knights of Columbus are buying ultrasound machines to offer free ultrasounds. There are many pro-life organizations that have purchased mobile ultrasounds for this purpose …have you supported their efforts …I have.

Planned parenthood does not support these efforts to educate women on what their choice (child) looks like …
 
Small steps … I don’t think this bill will persuade enough to make a huge difference in the war against abortion … But it is a small step for God and the babies.

I can’t see how this bill will inspire women to be Joan of Arc’s and make sacrifices for those women in human trafficking and sexual slavery. I don’t see how this Bill will inspire the creation of a family if the man is not required to be part of the witnessing.

Winning the war on abortion WILL require a much bigger influence to bring men back into the process instead of bearing all of the weight onto the woman. This has to change the male mindset and get them men (few women)away from pornography, objectification, and opportunities to take responsibilities (even at young ages like girls face when pregnant). Without tools, resources, and Bills to bring back men into the decision, this is a small victory but we are still loosing the war.

Ultra-sound reveals the truth of a living child (that some are plotting to destroy).

That said … it is hard to read (let alone benefit from the guidance of) scripture if one insists upon being in darkness.

Pass it! It’s not even that controversial. I suppose it is a potential blow to the abortion industry.
