Do these radical muslims only read their own revisionist historians, or are they aware that the Crusades were a defensive action because the muslims spread their faith by the sword and tried to invade Europe?

I just don’t get it- they seemed to get whipped up into a self-righetous furor when the word “crusader” is used, but in reality, they were the aggressors in those wars. It’s like the Germans getting indignant over D-Day.

If anything, the term ‘crusade’ should call shame into their own minds for their own crimes.

Correct. The crusades were defensive wars and completely justifiable.

If it wasn’t for those brave men who literally sacrificed themselves and their wealth, many more European citizens would today be praying toward Mecca. It was only after several centuries of Moslem incursions into many European countries that the Pope and Christianity finally reacted. But hey, what can we expect from a really devout fundamentalist Moslem like Ben Laden, but to push such an agenda with its attendant propaganda!

One can tell how evil Bin Laden is that he goes after the Pope. Only the devil knows how to do that. Think about it. Of all the religions to attack, why us? The Pope stands for the truth! God Bless Him!

I hate to do this, but… why not us?

If you were the leader of a large religious group, wouldn’t you address the leaders of other nations and religions?

And if you wanted to attack the religion opposed to yours, you would attack the leader of that religion, no?

And Protestant churches don’t have a leader that they are all unified behind… So if Bin Laden wanted to attack Christianity, he would go for the most important Christian leader: the Pope.

So leaving aside for the moment the possibility that Bin Laden is being used as a tool of Satan against the Church… it makes perfect sense to me.

I guess I really couldn’t see it happening any other way. shrug

Bin Laden might go after him verbally, but that will be all. Anything more, and that would be the end of the Al Queida movement, believe me! The whole world would go nuts! Roanoker

While the crusades were indeed a defensive action it is important to remember that this doesn’t excuse the behavior of large numbers of individual ‘crusaders.’ (And even some of the leadership). Such humility is crucial to witnessing Christ to muslims.

Frankly though, it smells to me like Osama is a bit desperate sounding. Like he’s grasping for anything that might generate some anger.

We repesent Christ on Earth. Osama stands with Satan. It only makes sense for Satan to want to destroy Christ.

forgive me for jumping in here and correcting a couple of things. first, there is an ongoing investigation of the authenticity of the audio recording to whether it is Usama Bin Laden or not. given the fake videos we’ve seen before, i would say that audio is the next strategy. secondly, this lady, Benazir Bhutto who was assassinated, said Usama Bin Laden was murdered. Watch at 2:15 of this video youtube.com/watch?v=lyv8s1UOJaQ
thank you.

Christian Crusades were an answer to the Muslim Crusades of the early 8th century against Christian Europe… The Muslim Crusades were known as Jihads. Christian Crusades were perfectly justified.
