Oh please…revisionist history. The real estate crash was created by the Community Reinvestment Act and other Democrat policies that forced banks to make loans to those who couldn’t afford them followed by a bailout by Fanny and Freddy courtesy of you and me. Don’t even get me started…

As to Obama’s response, a booming economy will do far more for lower income and middle income than food stamps and disability particularly since we have to borrow the money to pay for this increasing burden.

Let’s see, how many poor people could have been helped by the BILLIONS given to Obama’s cronies for “green energy?” How many tax subsidies for rich people to buy six figure cars could have paid for medical care for poor people?

Obama’s programs have not only destroyed the economy, he has also provided huge benefits to his wealthy supporters, ignoring the increasing poverty and misery, particularly in minority communities. Even black Congressmen have said if Obama were white he “couldn’t have gotten away with it.”

Spare me the hearts and flowers about Obama. He’s a rich elitist and cares nothing for the poor.

The Church is very clear that we can support a candidate whose views on the ‘non-negotiables’ are out of sync with ours IF we find proportionate reasons. With Mitt Romney, the first time I googled him I found more than enough reason to support Obama instead.

In my opinion, Bush should be faulted for allowing the whole bad mortgage mess go wild when, perhaps, he could have stopped it by going public with defiance of the will of Schumer, Dodd, Frank and Obama. Possibly he could have reformed Fannie and Freddie when he wanted to and when others were encouraging him to do it.

But he didn’t. He caved as he sometimes did. And for that he bears a significant blame.

It’s idle, really, to say what Obama’s response should have been, because, of course, that was not his agenda. He had ideological goals and pursued them. The economy was not very high on his agenda. It would not have been possible for him to do anything effective in restoring the economy when his every instinct and policy directive was, and is, damaging to the economy. One might as well ask what Romney should do to strengthen the teachers unions and accelerate the empowerment of the Muslim Brotherhood abroad. It would be a totally idle speculation.

CHICAGO — Joining the chorus of Roman Catholic clergy in Illinois criticizing President Barack Obama before next week’s election, Peoria Bishop Daniel Jenky ordered priests to read a letter to parishioners on Sunday before the presidential election, explaining that politicians who support abortion rights also reject Jesus.

“By virtue of your vow of obedience to me as your Bishop, I require that this letter be personally read by each celebrating priest at each Weekend Mass,” Jenky wrote in a letter circulated to clergy in the Catholic Diocese of Peoria.

In the letter, Jenky cautions parishioners that Obama and a majority of U.S. senators will not reconsider the mandate that would require employers, including religious groups, to provide free birth control coverage in their health care plans. “This assault upon our religious freedom is simply without precedent in the American political and legal system,” Jenky wrote.

Don’t get you started? How does it work: Bush was not responsible for the near-depression, but Obama determines the price at the pump? So if you’re not Obama, you’re not to blame for what happens on your watch but if you’re Obama you bear responsibility for what you did, what you failed to do and what the conspiracy theorists dream up about you? Peter Kreeft had a great point about this. I can’t find the quote, but it went something like this (pardons to Dr Kreeft for the butchery of his words): One would have to extraordinarily arrogant or extraordinarily foolish to not be fearful of meeting God.

No. The people whose view you disagree with are not assuming the roles of priest, bishop or Pope, they are only reciting what priests, bishops and the Pope have said. Some accept those statements and, it appears, some don’t.

What are you talking about? The same ‘collapse’ that had McCain suspending his CAMPAIGN against Obama to rush to Washington? That was caused by Obama? So what was Bush doing in the WH if Obama/the Democrats were running the country?

I’ve already wept at the injustice and greed of man to man - nothing that happens tomorrow could make that weeping worse. The sky won’t fall - trust me.
