It’s not a “non-negotiable” issue. The Catechism should address a renegade government against Christian values as well.
Really? Have you suggested that to the Vatican? It’s just a food for thought question. The Church teaches us, and we learn from the Church.

Is lying a non negotiable? Theft? Adultery?

We learn much from the Church besides the 5 non negotiable issues found in the voter’s guide.

I find the Constitution divine, I said “Constructionist” views, the Court has made up decisions out of whole cloth, they did not follow the Constitution per abortion rights. You can have whatever opinion you want. There were activist judges who according to most constitutional scholars did not follow what our founders laid out.

Yes, we are Catholics, I have followed Catholic teachings.
Can you show me where the Church gives it’s blessing to, or affirms, the constitution being divine?

The 4 most recent mass shootings happened in 4 different states.

God calls us to live for one another.

-Pope Francis
Yes, God calls us to live for one another and we try to. How do we know these mass shooting that have picked up in intensity over the past several years are not due to psychotropic drugs, video games/violence in movies or could have been even rigged by our own Federal Government to give them an excuse to try to regulate guns with the goal to confiscate eventually?

Let us see the Church address the Constitution first, if it hasn’t, then you can’t say they have ruled on the issue.

The men of the Church touched on those issues in their calls for measures to control the sale and use of firearms, with the exception of being paranoid of a total eradication of guns taking place. That’s is more of a conspiracy theory, or a justification of maintaining gun rights without certain controls, or so it seems with some people. We know the reality of it happening is very, very remote.

It would certainly seem that if the Church considered a constitution divine they would have said something about it.

I’m sorry you care to cast dispersions on others and that does not seem Christian, we have the most Pro-Abortion President ever, he is the first president to ever address Planned Parenthood, the nation’s largest abortion provider, he is embroiled in scandal that points to covering up certain issues to win an election, therefore I find your logic unfathomable and unsurprisingly pro-democrat.

The Democrats also assault religion, the 1st amendment, forcing people to act against their own conscience, it has never been to that extent done before. Sorry, I don’t buy what you say and these people do not have a track record I would trust.

I know, I’m accused quite often, but notice that when others cast those same type dispersions on me, it’s completely overlooked.

It’s not casting dispersions to say that speculation of something is similar to a conspiracy theory. If you want to twist my meaning to seem to have wrong intentions, we can end this discussion.

Legal abortion is over 40 years old. It has survived all administrations.

Again, ‘you’re a democrat’, take that! Come on. You know exactly where I stand, and how I voted. I’ve repeated it over and over. We don’t need to take ‘jabs’ at one another to make points. 😦

It seems when some arguments are made, I don’t get direct responses, but personal condemnations instead. 🤷

Gun control laws already exist, what laws there are need to be enforced. Not new ones from a federal centralized government.

You used the word “paranoia”.

Also, seems Slavery was around for300 years too. But your statement does not seem surprising.

No one said you are a democrat, it does seem to show a lack of bias on your behalf. Even your statement above is saying “Abortion has been around for 40 years and survived all administrations” seems to be saying, it’s entrenched and there’s not much we can do. I can’t believe we go back to that statement again.

Which by the way is a falsehood, the one size abortion law has been limited, states like Missouri and Mississippi have but one clinic, Wyoming has hardly any abortions, a judge, probably Federal is acting against the States rights in stopping abortion in Arkansas.

Because of the pro-life movement and pro-life politicians, gains have been made, 3 clinics just shut down in California.

So, yes, your statement above is really quite arrogant and that is fine if the conversation ends, however, if you subvert the truth or show a hypocrisy on the issue, I will point it out.

Okay, enough. I’m done. I don’t want to make it personal, or have personal arguments directed towards myself. I haven’t done that and find it offensive to have anything I say to be twisted into something wrong. You know very well that over 40 years of abortion represents a truth of it going beyond political lines and surviving both parties. God bless you on your journey.

ProdigalSon1: Please show us where the Bishops say a federal government that promotes abortion, gives $1,000,000 a day to America’s biggest abortion provider should regulate guns.

You could not honestly debate this, you wish to define the parameters. Please do not use this condescending tone with me. You did not make a good faith effort to address the issues and thus run out.

I don’t even know what you mean and why the topic gets changed on every topic we discuss. You’re adding something to the teaching of the Catechism to fit a political view. The men of the Church recognize good, no matter who it comes from. They have not held their peace with this administration over the non negotiable issues. It is the partisans who cannot see any good, unless it fits their own political view 100%.

As I said in my previous post, you and I need to end our attempts to discuss anything. I do find it offensive to be demonized for anything I say, even when it is a ‘spin’ of what I really said, God Bless.

Read back through our most recent posts and count the questions I asked you. Then count the answers. You have avoided the discussion. I am not being condescending but find it offensive to have ad hominems, or inflammatory, wording used towards myself. My words have been spun enough.

I agree with the bishops, 100%.
