excaliber;3953690:
Ok so for you the fruit is the teaching not the people.

Hi again excaliber,

No, the fruit is the fruit ( the product or people of that said faith )
What concerns me a great deal is when we put such emphasis on the " behavior " or " kindness " of the broken people ( ME INCLUDED ) and loose sight of, or the importance of the actuall religion we claim to be vested in.

Peace,
Carl
Church is supposed to fix broken people.

Because everyone is broken without Jesus.

excaliber;3953772:
Agree 68 %

Seeking and finding the truth is what fixes ( only till we fall again ) broken people.

God bless,
Carl
Fall again HOW?
Do you mean major…or minor stuff that everyone dose because they are not perfect?

It Should not be major because God would give us what we needed if we keep the kingdom first right?

If you have what you need, there would not be a MAJOR break from it right?

Hi again excaliber,

Hmmmmmmmmmm, not sure if we are on the same page or not but I will take a shot.

I speak for me ( not the Catholic Church )
( Fallen or fall again ) to me is to sin or go against what God desires for us, I have fallen many times and will probably fall again by dinner. ( burgers and salad if you were curious
God gives us all what we need, ( he does not force it on us ), it is up to us to choose him and his grace or not, we do not earn or deserve this grace it is rather a loving gift he gives us through his son Jesus.

I will stop yacking for know,
Peace,
Carl

Hello Z,

Interesting post, Does that go for ALL???

If I can show you good fruit ( great neighbors, productive citizens, graduates of top notch schools, humble, kind CATHOLIC folks, would you conclude that tree must be a good one ???
That depends on what kind of tree you are talking about. If a political party produced good fruit, I would say it is a good political party, not a good religion. If a philosophy produced good fruit, we would say that is a good philosophy, not a good religion. Jesus made that comment in a very narrow sense. He was talking about those that made a narrow religious claim:

Matthew 7:

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

The LDS Church claims to be led by prophets, Apostles, seers, and revelators; by the direct guidance and revelation of heaven. If that claim was false, it would not be producing good fruit.

and this is significant because Jesus is NOT speaking about a religion or a church, he is speaking very specifically about FALSE PROPHETS!!! compare this to what know about Joseph Smith. his fruits include sedition, bank fraud, adultery, heresy and much more.

They said worse things than that about Jesus:

Matthew 10:

24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

25 It is enough for the disciple that he be as his master, and the servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household?

26 Fear them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known.

John 15:

20 Remember the word that I said unto you, The servant is not greater than his lord. If they have persecuted me, they will also persecute you.

Of course not! That would be like saying that Judas Iscariot was the fruit of Jesus!

doesn’t look worse to me but in any case which accusations are true?

Interesting do you put all ex mormons in the same category of willful disobedience ?

JW’S do that…they are all over a new convert, and all over you if your doing good.

BUt they don’t look out for there own if you have doubts…or problems.

Z you keep acting like a JW…cut it out LOL.

Read Amos 8:11-12

Is that fortelling a great apostasy?

That’s what the mormons say it means.

Also they say all we have to do is pray…if that’s the case God will tell us if Joseph smith is a prophet if we just pray.

Well Im about to give it a go…
be back

Hey Z ,

If I wasn’t clear what kind of tree I was talking about I will try and be crystal clear now. I am talking about a Catholic tree, and my question to you is ( drum roll please ) If I can show you Catholics that are productive citizens, kind, gentle folk that have good educations from schools on par with BYU, would you consider the " Catholic " tree as equal to the for-mentioned " Mormon" tree???

I look forward to seeing you this fall for RCIA ( congratulations Z )

God bless,
Carl

OK so I read some of it…nothing happened.

Anyway as far as black and LDS…its hard to tell. Because Missionaries are the only ones trying to be involved with you at first.

Catholics are way different!!!

Carl quit making fun of mormons,
or whoever your making fun of…

I can’t find humor in this.

I have learned a lot about denominationalism…I don’t think its funny at all.

Unless you have walked in a mormons shoes?

I was a JW, that’s why I make fun
of the watchtower organization…THEY ARE A JOKE!!

But the JW people I would not joke about.

With Mormonism you get the guilt, paranoia and mind control of The Watchtower along with the sci-fi comic weirdness of Scientology.

That is one of the numerous passages in the Bible that foretells the Apostasy.

No that is not what we say. You also put your own effort and intelligence into it. You study the Book of Mormon, and try to make sense of it yourself, and at the same time pray for the Lord to enlighten your mind by His Spirit to know if it is true.
