And we are expected to just lay down and take this crap? That woman should have been removed from the plane immediately. You don’t interfere with the flight crew doing their job! It isn’t fair to the other passengers, it isn’t fair to the flight crew members, and it’s completely disrespectful and unacceptable.

Had I been in charge that day, I would have given that gal the boot. Problem is, it most certainly would have started a riot and put a lot of other folks in danger. That’s probably why they didn’t throw her off the aircraft.

These folks use fear and intimidation to get their way, even when they aren’t entitled to it. It’s going to take some real leadership to stand up to them.

Out of all of the airline flights in the US daily and 10s of thousands of passengers, there’s one video of someone behaving badly. What is this supposed to represent?

Yes, they do behave badly, and usually, if they do, it is off the plane. Recently an elderly man was booted off the plane for complaining about the mask the flight attendant wore.

The flight attendant took the mask down to give flight instructions. He was annoyed by that.

They have to run these flights.

And Delta has banned hundreds of people for not complying with mask regulations.

Is the original video just about people behaving badly on planes? If so, I don’t know why her race is of importance.

Because she is throwing around the phrase “white privilege”?

She should have been removed from the plane!

So what is this about, suppose it had been an emergency, would the flight attendant be required to wait?
Forget that - what if I am parched? How am I supposed to get my ginger ale?

I used to fly a couple of times each month (covid has changed that). I’ve seen people not listen to instructions. Not all are removed from the aircraft. I’d like to see people who refuse to put their laptops away before takeoff booted more often.

It wasnt’ that he would not listen, he disrupted the flight attendance so no one else could listen to the flight instructions and the passenger became a disturbance that the airline did not need.

I think it was a woman.

Sorry to confuse. The second ink I posted was a man who was taken off the airline for disrupting the flight attendance. That is what I was referring to.

The only exception where there have been some controversy is whether children should be required to wear masks… In the USA the age is 2 but there have been cases when a 2 year old and family were removed from Jet blue for not weaingr a mask and then there was an 3 year old Autistic child on Southwestern whose family was removed… This seems ridiculous.

They must even be stricter is Canada because an 18 month old was not allowed on airline without a mask which really gets absurd. The whole flight was canceled which had to annoy everyone.

Yes, you are. Show some remorse and a sense of shame for furthering the oppressive society that grants privilege to whiteness. The absolute least white people can do is not get indignant when a POC has the audacity to expect a little bit of deferential treatment as recompense for generations of white on POC violence and systematic oppression and disenfranchisement.

No, there are penalties that can be applied for such behaviour.

If the plane had not yet taken off then being non-compliant with the flight crew is cause to return the plane to the gate and have the person in question removed.

If the plane is in flight, then the Captain can make a decision to land the plane and have the passenger removed.

Whether the plane has her removed before takeoff, diverts to have her removed, or continues to its destination, this behaviour could be cause for a charge under 49 U.S. Code § 46504. That is a federal crime for sentencing of up to 20 years.

Additionally the airline can choose to no longer do business with her and suspend her ability to fly with them for life.

The use of intimidation against members of the flight crew is specifically called out in the above mentioned law.

I would not make an inference about the country if Canada because of an incident on a flight. Additionally, the incident is disputes with the airline claiming the 3 year old not wearing the mask is the problem.

Gives white conservatives something to get mad about.

Going off topic here but…The father claims that the 3 year old had the mask on and the 18 months old did not have the mask on which makes sense. Canada is very strict if they think every child under any age should have a mask. The dad was outraged.

In todays age, the flight attendant being accused of white privilege probably would have lost her job if she had been more confrontational with the airline passenger.
