My comment was not meant to fit into a politically correct box.

The facts support the fact that the birthrate is higher amongst the lower classes, and yes, people on welfare have more disorganized lives, tend to not plan for the future, tend not to take personal responsiblity for their choices, and are definately not the folks who are keeping civilization afloat through positive contributions to the common good.

This isn’t to denigrate them as human beings, nor is it to deny the fact that some people justly use the welfare system as a leg up to a better life. But the fact remains that, our social welfare system, coupled with artificial birth control and abortion, has enouraged the underclass, Black and White, to demographically increase their numbers proportionately over that of people with a more responsible approach to life.
Sorry but I just don’t get the train of thought here, black people are aborting at higher rates than whites (if we are to believe the statistics given here) because of Planned Parenthood and Margaret Sanger, yet the black underclass (and those of other races) is reproducing irresponsibly and disproportionately because of dependence on welfare?! Can these two assumptions coexist in reality or am I missing something?

Basically what is being said is that contraception isn’t working except in the groups that aren’t really targeted by Planned Parenthood. The people getting the fewest abortions are the white upper-class, by proportion.

Blacks and other people of color are receiving a disproportionate number of abortions. Planned Parenthood targets the poor for their “sex education” programs. What is being pointed out is that their programs to “prevent conception” aren’t working. The groups that PP claims to be reaching are either having more children because it gets them more money from welfare, or they are aborting. Both are extremes, and neither is good.

PP targets the poor (under the guise of helping them.) A higher proportion of the poor are people of color. The founder of PP was a racist and founded her Birth Control League for the purpose of eugenics for a purified race. PP attempts to “help” those poor keep from conceiving, when that fails, PP has an extremely high abortion rate. Sanger’s goal was to reduce the number of Blacks. PP is “succeeding” there, still.

The point of comparing the high abortion rates of blacks and the high rate of of poor single mothers is showing that neither of the goals of PP are actually working to *help *the poor. Contraception doesn’t work, and when it fails, a disproportionate number of black women “choose” to abort. Why is that, if PP’s way of doing things is so great?

While I don’t agree with lovesMary’s particular presentation of the facts, those are the facts. The upper-class are the only ones “succeeding” at contraception. And it is people of color who are being aborted at a horrible rate.

Who are Pro-Aborts? I have never heard of such a group? Frankly I didn’t think that there were very many folks who were for abortion if that is your appellation.
Hi SpiritMeadow. Pro-Aborts. is my personal shorthand for pro-abortionists. I got kind of lazy with my writing.

" The founder of PP was a racist and founded her Birth Control League for the purpose of eugenics for a purified race". Can you tell me the source for your info. I don’t even know who the founder of PP was. Will have to google it. Thanks.

Well the fiat came about for many reasons …

First of all there were many outright lies presented as facts …

the case was presented as a Rape case - and as we know - instances of rape and incest along with the life [not health] of the mother are the toughest to get your head and heart around … in fact Roe was not a rape case … google about Norma McCorvey

Next the Doctor made up a figure [100,000 illegal abortion deaths - I think] that was totally bogus … see Doctor Bernard Nathanson here and do addtional research en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bernard_Nathanson

Coupled with the lack of Ultrasound and other medical technology in the early 1970’s and a liberal court … people could present misinformation and have it be believable … at least by some …

The sexual revolution [the de-moralizing america], drugs nd the anything goes mentality …

Those are just my thoughts … but the issue is complex …

***Satan is the Author of Lies and he speeks with a golden tongue … ***
Thanks for the information Yada.

I’m still confused. Who are pro-abortionists? Do they have a site? I’ve never heard of such a group before.

This thread is racist. We are all one race…there is no need to use “blacks”

It is very difficult to be “politically correct” in all things these days. I am sure no one on this thread intended to be racist. I, myself, have always wondered why African Americans call themselves such. Why not just Americans? We who are legally here in the U.S. are all Americans, but we are not all one race.

RACE, RACISM AND THE LAW Dayton Ohio Universtiy School of Law groups us as follows:

African Americans, American Indian-Eskimo Indian, Asian - Pacific Americans, Hispanic-Latino Americans, European- White Americans, Biracial and Multicultural Americans

As much as I would like to see humanity look beyond skin color, it still hasn’t happened in this country. Facing the truth is not racism.

I am making no claim about Catholics and racism. I know Catholics are very concerned about racism. I do believe that this claim about PPH is simply erroneous to the point of being laughable. It will not stand up and makes the Church look foolish. It is not a good argument period.

I am thoroughly convinced that many posters may believe this stuff to the fullest. However, the argument is so totally flawed that it cuts against their stated goal of convincing people not to use abortion as a solution to a problem. Sanger’s opinions are not relevant no more than Henry Fords’ opinions are. They are both dead and their founded institutions have not been proven to follow their creeds.

If you say it doesn’t matter than I would argue that you are more intent on vilifying a dead woman than dealing with the problem. I say this based on the above, that it is an argument that cannot hold water.

I fail to see where you get the impression I am indicting the Church or anyone on their efforts to address minority issues. I would argue only that this one does not in any way. Nobody is going to stop using contraception because Margaret Sanger was a racist.

No, I said that it is not church teaching to claim that PPH is some racist organization bent on destroying black people. The Church knows much better than that I presume. She can attack PPH for solid reasons based on scripture. And I have no where stated that I have little problem with abortion. I do have little trouble with those folks who use contraception since I find NFP little different, just a matter of semantics. Been done to death as a thread too.
Leebo, I found those numbers to be quite interesting. Do you have a website citation for those demographic statistics?

Make it happen. And saying that we are all one isn’t being politically correct…it is telling the truth.

No it isn’t. No we aren’t. Yes, there is.

I have now made the opposite assertions. Charging in with “this is racist” is unhelpful and incorrect. The folks at Black genocide disagree with you. Yes we are part of the human “race,” but that is not necessarily an accurate description of the word.

We are different from each other. Denying those differences don’t make everyone suddenly get along. Does the word genocide help you feel better? That was Sanger’s goal. She wanted to eliminate those she termed, “human weeds.” She set up entire program to systematically do so. Since blacks are being aborted at a higher rate than their population proportion, Sanger’s “system” must be stopped!

i agree with most of what you say…but would add that we are more alike than we are different… I heard something to the effect that Black genes and White ones are not that different… Sorry i can’t be more “precise” than that… (i’m not a geneticist)… but anyway, we all have the same kinds of organs (heart/liver, etc.) , red blood… etc…

We look different… somewhat… Whites don’t all look the same as each other and Blacks dont’ either… but we are not supposed to judge poeple by looks. We are human and so we do it anyway… :whacky: but we need to get beyond looks… (which is one reason i hate TV… everyone has to be physically beautiful, it seems… )… Yet some physically beautiful persons are really ugly on the inside… (i know a few of them… )… They seem to think they can act any kind of way and its OK because they are so… wonderful becsause they look good…

Where did I say this, or did you just read that slant into what you were thinking I said? If you read the post with my intention, what I said was that some posters “may” inadvertently post an opinion, or statement that would be considered “politically incorrect” in this day and age.

Thinking more about your post, I can see where you are coming from a bit more clearly. Yes, we are all members of one “human” race and wishfully thinking, that is how we should think of one another. But, although we need to take our likeness’s and sameness into consideration, we also must deal with our differences. This is truth also. Until we as one race can tolerate one another’s differences, we will be divided as to religion, culture, social mores, etc. This is the human element. It is not the best we can do, but this is also truth.

Given living in a large city, or a small rural town, we as indiviuduals have differences of opinions and beliefs resulting from family background, what our parents/grandparents and so on thought and practiced, what our relgion teaches, etc. Even going from one neighborhood to another, we find differences in attitudes, etc. For example in large cities there are groups of individuals professing different faiths from others, ie. We have members belonging to Judaism, Islam, Christianity etc. all secluded in their own little burgs and woe to anyone who crosses over the boundaries and unknowingly insults someone, or their beliefs. So we remain isolated from one another due to ignorance and fear.

So given, we are all ONE RACE physically, we are not all ONE race psychologically due to outside influences on our personal and group experiences.
