I think he looks kind of shady, too.
But Boehner is Catholic and shouldn’t have said that about anyone! That I think could be a sin of calumny. I’m no lover of Cruz, but he doesn’t deserve this.m I’d understand if it came from Trump but not Boehner.

I may vote for Ted Cruz, especially if Bernie wins the democratic nomination
The obvious response to that would be, why vote for someone who presumably won’t be running? But then again, perhaps Sen Cruz will get more write-in votes in Nov then my own candidate, Darrel Castle, will get. 😊😉

Okay, I have to ask this … Does anyone think Boehner’s real intention was to get people to think about the fact that Donald Trump is now “establishment”?

Ronald Reagan is the one who turned the tide of this country towards neoliberalism. And Cruz goes further: Flat tax, abolishing the IRS, massive downsizing of the federal government . . . I would call this extreme neoliberalism, yes.
Cruz has his faults but he’s miles better than Hillary. He wants to cut your taxes, keep you from being spied on and end government funneling of funds to big corporations, unlike Hillary.

Neoliberalism is a common enough term. There may be some variance in definitions, but it’s all associated with free market economics. I’m not using it in an odd or vague way. It’s not some rare word used only in academics. The Austrian and Chicago schools of economics are neoliberal.

Seriously, people see the word ‘liberal’ and freak out. Now, if I was just throwing liberal around meaning what is now referred to as classical liberalism, I could understand the confusion. But confusion over the word neoliberal? Sigh…
Oh thanks, by the way.

I never really use the word neo-liberal, and it kind of felt like it was being used as the word neo-conservative is now, which is to say as a label of something that the person using the word doesn’t like.

Be that as it may, I don’t really have a problem with the kind of policy described. It is a proven winner at generating wealth.

I wonder if Boehner is still laughing?

I’ve always found him to be sort of a lovable character (even at times when I said "Hmmm, what is he thinking with such and such?). But now I just there’s something wrong with him.

Thank goodness Paul Ryan is better than that.

We are blowing our chance with the most prolife candidate we will likely ever see! Pro-life without exceptions! … The more I learn about trump the harder it is for me to think I could ever vote for him in good conscience, I would never vote for Hillary or Bernie
Got that right! I, too, would never vote for Hillary or Bernie – or anyone at the top of the Democratic ticket for that matter – but now I’m supposed to vote for the Democrat who will be at the top of the Republican ticket in November? Because he’s somehow more palatable than Hillary?

This is exactly my predicament.

You can see, I’m sure, why I’m shifting to focus on the down ballot elections. Whoever of those three gets the next term in the White House (and I’m pretty certain of who that is going to be) we will need good men and women in Congress, I.e. Republicans.
