Hope, given your scrupulosity you should talk to your priest if you are concerned about whether or not to see the movie.

Isn’t someone’s spiritual condition more important than the exterior factors?

The movie will probably have too much of those elements than most people would care for.

Infinitely so. But we do not know what Mr Mercury’s spiritual condition was, particularly not at the time of his death, and it would be fruitless to speculate on the matter. Hence, the most important thing about him for us, as faithful, non-judgmental persons, is his generosity in sharing his musical talent with us.

Not necessarily, it’s more that if I see homosexual kissing or fondling on television, I will change the channel. I refuse to support something so wrong.

Queen was a bit after my time (stopped really listening to rock in the late 70’s to early 80’s. The best thing I liked about Queen was George Michael’s version of “Somebody to Love” at the Freddie Mercury tribute concert at Wembley Stadium. Catch it on you tube. George did a fabulous job of Freddie’s song, I just …. what? George Michael was gay? And he’s dead. And so’s Freddie? Somebody call Scotland Yard … I smell a conspiracy here. 😉😜😯

Which reminds me…anyone who has attended a Christmas performance of Casse-Noisette (The Nutcracker) (music by Tchaikovsky) or sung along to the soundtrack of Disney’s Sleeping Beauty (music also by Tchaikovsky) has been enjoying music written by a gay composer. Those of you trying to avoid homosexual influence in culture may want to do some research before consuming any art that might possibly be tainted. Wouldn’t want to accidentally be caught doing karaoke to the Beauty and the Beast soundtrack, now, would you? ☺️

And you would be amazed at the number of songs and commercial jingles and movie and TV theme songs were written by Barry Manilow. The list of entertainers, writers, and other “artists” who are gay is beyond numerous. If you banned all their works, it would be a pretty quiet world.

No kidding! And if every gay person on the planet dropped dead at once (as supposedly happened on the morning of the Nativity, according to pious legend), it would be a much less colorful and interesting world…

How true. I’m as straight as the edge of a yardstick and I really enjoy the works of so many gay artists. Whenever I need a quick pick me up, I go to the you tube version of Elton’s John’s “Club at the End of the Street.” The video version. If that song doesn’t lift you’re spirits, you just might be dead!

I would suggest waiting to see the ratings and reviews on the film and checking the Catholic News Service review when it comes out.
I won’t say anything about it being a sin or not because frankly, I don’t know. I do think the work of someone, whether it be music or paintings, etc., can be separated from what a person chose to do with their life.
That, however, should not stop you from looking into the contents of the film and making sure it is morally suitable. May the Holy Spirit guide you to make the right decision and if you see it, I hope you enjoy it!

I don’t really know how to post links or something like a video on you tube, but I hit the share feature on this you tube video and here is what I referred to in the above post.

Edited to say, "what do you know, it worked !!

Fun tune! Don’t believe I’d ever heard it before. Thanks, @joeybaggz! ☺️

You know, watching the young women in the audience dancing along, I almost get the feeling he should have been singing “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun!” 🤣 It is a great pick me up tune.
