Boston bomber angry at the U.S

It is truly to be expected, but part of making sense of what appears to be a senseless act is knowing that these two children (I am referring to a spiritual maturity) were angry at the U.S. in general.

As much as our Muslim friends encourage peace and “returning evil with good”, the human compulsion is for justice, and the two involved sought carrying out justice in their own way. Like all condemnation, the boys’ condemnation of America blocked their empathy toward its people. They were blind to the humanity of their victims.

I am energized to do something. Our secular society does not have the answers for this problem, but religions do. All major religions emphasize forgiveness, but all followers forget to forgive. If the boys were acting out of anger, which it sounds like they were, they had neglected to forgive.

This is not a Muslim problem but a human problem. We all need to join hands and work together to encourage forgiveness, for it is truly the path to peace. We owe it to the victims of the Boston bombing to forgive all of our enemies. And let us remember - it is our calling to do so.

We all get angry, judge, condemn, and hate compulsively, automatically. We are slaves to our nature. To forgive, we have to will to forgive!
 
I for one will make sure to try to assuage any percieved injustice, no matter how outlandish.

True. We are all capable of such delusion, though. Every time we condemn someone, we are seeing with an illusion. Such is the case with these two who blindly sought justice.

Another question is, can we forgive these two for their ignorance, blindness, and anger? Can we forgive them for being given so much, and then blasting us? Can we forgive them for saying that the US is unfair to Muslims? Takes a lot of prayer and understanding…
 
I’m not surprised, after all the mother is on camera stating that the US “took away my kids”. :rolleyes:

As posted in an earlier thread they won’t mail your welfare check to a foreign nation (needs to be verified).

Just curious - did they use their Obama phone to set off the bombs?

How is the US unfair to Muslims? They’re offered the same opportunities here as anyone else is. I haven’t seen anyone from the Muslim community condemning their actions.
Is it our fault they were unable to see past cultural differences? And why aren’t they expected to assimilate into our culture?

Yes, I can (and do) forgive them. What I can’t do is somehow justify their motivation. (not that I think you were).

No, I could not justify doing what they did. I do believe that they thought they were carrying out justice, though. Ignorance. Sad, but human. Around here, gang bangers kill members who try to leave the gang. They see the desertion as an unjust. Again, I see this as atrocious. They see it as policing their own.

Well, I don’t think our government is unfair to Muslims. The question is, in what way were they blind? The problem was not in their lack of appreciation, specifically speaking. The problem was their blindness to the good of our society and people in general, a blindness caused by their anger and condemnation.

I really don’t think this is a cultural or religious issue, but a human issue. So the Gospel message of forgiveness is truly pertinent.

Yes, absolutely, many statements have come from the Muslim community condemning their actions.

It’s not our place to judge the bombers, but we have to judge their actions. By we, I mean our justice system. I just can’t help but wonder why is it that young Muslim men have such a deep seated hatred toward the US. I understand that our cultures are very different, but why the hatred on their part? I don’t hate the Muslim people, but I don’t trust them either. And I think this is justifiable, considering what some of them have tried to do. And the fact that they don’t speak up and condemn what the fanatics of their religion do makes it seem like they accept these actions.

I understand your sentiment, and I shared your anger. When I was done being angry, I began taking the steps to understand and forgive.

Forgiveness does not mean acquittal, though. We can still forgive, but “throw the book” at the surviving bomber. Forgiveness enables us to throw the book with peaceful hearts.

We know we have forgiven when we no longer see our enemy as a “scumbag”. Our condemnation of the person dissipates.
 
Everything with the government is direct deposit now. It’s to cut down frauds. That’s what I was told. :rolleyes:

This is a nice post, OneSheep.

I always wonder how heaven is. I like to imagine much, much better than life on earth is.

I’ve just come to accept the Darwinian nature of the world. I just want to eventually carve out my own nice little section. Somewhere warm and what I regard as naturally beautiful. Like Southern Florida (although they have gators and snakes down there), Southern France, and Southern Spain. Maybe a nice section of Brazil or the Dominican Republic.

I think your post is nice but I don’t foresee the world becoming less filled with hate and injustices. Though, through political processes and media influences a few categories of people will become more accepted and less persecuted here and there.
