OK, so tell your son that what he did was “perverted”. And if he kiss a boy again that he was not loved by God?
 
I think this is naive. Kids do all sorts of things on dares or are manipulated into doing stuff. Certain behaviors become cool and popular. I’ve seen this happen in high school (teacher). Then, they’re confused.

No, the point was that in your example of the guy talking about dating is that they are going to experience it in school and university. You make it seem like the only place they will come into contact with it is the scouts, which isn’t true.

Apparently he just wanted to pop in and declare he was “gay” and then that was it. I know that sounds hard to believe but hey no agenda.

I took your concern about a gay teen talking about his relationship with others to be a fear that he might encourage them to think that it is normal and try it themselves.

Treating others with charity is Christian, not really anything political there. The conservative ones are generally speaking chaste and not in favour of promoting gay marriage. Doesn’t change the fact that they are sexually attracted to men.
You are side stepping the issue here. Are you claiming anything goes as long as no sexual contact occurs? Because that is not a Catholic position.

Disinterested friendship is encouraged. Some chaste gay men live together in order to provide support to one another and the Church doesn’t have an issue with this.

Are you following a heterosexual agenda? There is almost a sense of hysteria in what you write.

Maybe he was going through an emotionally difficult time and looked towards his close friends in scouting for support? Or maybe he was looking for the support of an adult role model who he knew he could trust in the scoutmaster? Both of these the Church sees as good reasons for revealing ones sexuality. Now it can be done in scouting without being kicked out.

If he said he was a sinner and was not trying to not sin then yes. If he is a thief and says he will continue to steal and will not change then yes.

This is the essence of Scouts. Trying to do better.

How do you know there was no agenda? Is he a practicing gay now?

Ahh now we get to the crux.

A parent now has two choices - affirm the deviance or counsel him on how to live a chaste life. Now I ask you -

what parent does not advocate and teach chastity to their child?

It was not designed. It is a consequence of free will choices and the corruption that came with the fall. Disordered desires are not designed unless you claim they are designed for the purpose of unhappiness. Disordered desires and actions never make a person a better version of themself.
