what if he just said he’s a sinner (no specified sin) and will try not to sin but will certainly continue to sin?

They can, however, be a great means to sanctification. “Take up your cross and follow me.” True freedom and holiness is found in uniting the trials that come with homosexual tendencies with the suffering Christ.

Love? I love to steal, I love to cheat, I love to hurt people…

Loving another person is unselfish and has the bests interests of that person at heart. Love is not tolerance.

Or are you defining love as what achieves instant gratification?

I remember when vice president Cheney came out for gay marriage. He couldn’t imagine his own daughter being discriminated against. Cheney has grandchildren from his daughter’s relationship. Are they the devil’s children?

This argument is not an argument for there is no one without sin. It is the direction we are headed that is relevant. Where is our moral compass pointed?

Yes - a journey toward the cross would not put others in a position of having to advocate, embrace and affirm their sin.

Having homosexual attractions isn’t a sin. Telling your friends you have them isn’t asking them to embrace sin.
 
At first I was a little more sympathetic to the decision that was reached in the resolution that the Boy Scouts of America made, which stated, “… approved a resolution to remove the restriction denying membership to youth on the basis of sexual orientation alone.” but my son asked me what does orientation mean- it means that ***one is in the introductory stage in the process of…***something. You have to be very careful with every word you put in print. The Leaders should have been more firm in standing up for the strong morals that they have instead of allowing corruption to slowly penetrate under the sense of a false compassion.

We are ALL made in his image. This is not referring to homosexual desires.

So a 10 yr old boy is “corrupt” because he likes another 10 yr old boy?

Membership Resolution Points of Clarification:
  1. This proposal is in line with the beliefs of most of Scouting’s major religious chartered organizations.
    Some have asserted that the proposed change for youth runs counter to values of and raises concerns among Scouting’s religious chartered organizations. We are unaware of any major religious chartered organization that believes a youth member simply stating he or she is attracted to the same sex, but not engaging in sexual activity, should make him or her unwelcome in their congregation.
    This proposal reinforces Scouting’s belief that sexual conduct by any Scout, heterosexual or homosexual, is contrary to the virtues of Scouting and is reflective of the beliefs of most of our major religious chartered organizations.
    While, if this resolution is passed, no youth may be denied membership in the Boy Scouts of America on the basis of stating their sexual orientation alone, Scouting expects appropriate behavior from all members, which includes sexual conduct, regardless of sexual orientation.

It seems like they are being pretty clear that they are not endorsing sexual activity to me, but that’s just me. I believe in taking the Boy Scouts at their word.

Telling close friends about your struggle is not the same as causing an organization to accommodate your disordered desires.

What is the purpose of his private disclosure? To seek help? To see if there is another with the same feelings to get together? Intentions mean everything.

We can produce Bible verses back and forth, keeping in mind that the Church does not view the Bible to be taken literally in all things. Whenever we stray from the Sacred Heart of Jesus we become hypocrites.
