This really isn’t surprising at all. Whenever there is a change in Administrations, there is a change in personnel.

It’s fine if she wanted to follow her conscience and do what she thought was right, but the consequence is that any Administration wants consistent policy at these levels.

So no laughter or tears. Just business as usual.

An acting Attorney General is not the same thing as a confirmed Attorney General, so I don’t think it will be him. I am sure they will find some way to go forward, though.

Seeing that she is just waiting for the new AG to take his position and she would be gone anyway, her action is more of a calculated political statement rather than pure courage.

The political act was to contribute to the Media hysteria. The DNC is following Saul Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals” almost to the letter right now.

👍 If the judge says don’t do it then no matter what the prez says, you follow constitutional law and let the prez deal with it.

Doesn’t look like this “law and order” prez really has much respect for either the constitution or the law.

Definitely not a good sign.

Right, but AAG has FISA rights. 5 U.S.C. § 3345, and since Boente was confirmed by Senate, it appears he has FISA powers.

Then they claim Sally Yates was upholding the Constitution (e.g. Nancy Pelosi). I’d love for her to show me exactly where in the Constitution does it say we must take in refugees without vetting?
 
Looks like she did this as a political stunt. I’ve never heard of her before now. Is she seeking any office relatively soon?

Can’t help but think her ‘courage’ was related to the fact that she was going to lose her job anyway. This way she will ensure her Progressive credentials with the Left fascists.

Maybe she can star in her own Hollywood movie? I hear they are scraping the barrel these days.

I hope he gets impeached. I can’t understand anyone agreeing with this EO. It fills me with anger; righteous anger. It’s so unchristian; even pope Francis indicated as much and he is a holy man. I want to be one of the protesters. You should read some of the refugees’ stories. Your own people are more of a risk than them.

Exactly! And until they decide that issue the DOJ should not enforce those parts of the EO because they are only supposed to carry out lawful orders.

Yeah that certainly violates his oath of office and congress should move immediately to impeach and then investigate his emoluments clause violations in the context of criminal activity and perhaps even ties to Russia.

But she was put in by Obama. I am surprised she wasn’t replaced within a day or two of Trump taking office. I don’t see her as a profile in courage at all. Luckily the memo
brought her to the attention of the new administration and they could fire her. She was a fox in the henhouse anyway.

Why do people seem to forget this is temporary?
 
The job of the AG is to uphold the law, not to “obey orders”.
