Because your name-calling is gathering followers everywhere.
Maybe in a high-school cafeteria.
You’re absolutely right.

But isn’t it disingenuous to criticize Trump using invective and innuendo and use smear tactics (fascist, racist, police state, bad Catholic) to characterize those who support him even partly - and then use PC tactics to silence them?

Faced with such a situation, ridicule and sarcasm are powerful weapons. Saint Jerome understood this. When he called Jovinian and his followers “sissies”, he knew what he was saying.

Anyway, I’ll stop my Vox Day impression here. Prayers for all of you.

This is a good sign. It’s good to remind the bureaucracy that they are answerable to the elected officials and through them, the electorate. I’m sure I’m not the first to notice this, but this could be Trump’s PATCO. For those too young to remember, PATCO was the Air Traffic Controllers Union. They were contractually forbidden from striking, for obvious reasons. In the early 1980s, during a contract dispute with the FAA, they decided to strike. Then President Ronald Reagan fired the lot of them and brought in military air traffic controllers to replace them. It’s been said that it was this moment that the Soviets realized that Reagan was not one to trifle with.

Who you taking to the Prom?

Lol good argument. You realize his grandparents were slaughtered in the Holocaust? Also, are you telling our pope and bishops and sisters who have unequivocally spoken out against this to go away with much stronger language? Cooool.
A lot of people lost family and loved ones in the Holocaust, these people are just on a temporary ban, doesn’t mean we are persecuting anyone.

How many lives have been lost in Chicago, nothing has been done about it, where’s the outrage from our Democratic Leaders? Instead Rahm Emmanuel states “You are safe in Chicago, you are secure in Chicago.”…

Hitler’s euthanasia program began with the death of a disabled child nobody wanted. We have to be vigilant and not overlook these types of things. “They” will always go after the most unpopular people first (i.e. immigrants).

Although I think a temporary ban is absolutely wrong, I hope your right that it’s temporary. There is a lot of fear within the immigrant community that we shouldn’t ignore.

8 us code 1152;

(a) Per country level
(1) Nondiscrimination
(A) Except as specifically provided in paragraph (2) and in sections 1101(a)(27), 1151(b)(2)(A)(i), and 1153 of this title, no person shall receive any preference or priority or be discriminated against in the issuance of an immigrant visa because of the person’s race, sex, nationality, place of birth, or place of residence.

Seems pretty clear to me. You can’t revoke a Visa based on nationality.

👍 Exactly and they are inciting mobs, they are a nihilistic mob.Gustave Le Bon perfectly captured the liberal psychological profile in his 1896 book “The Crowd: A Study of the Popular Mind” and he was the first to capture the phenomenon of mass psychology. He paints a disturbing picture of the behavior of mobs. Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini used his book to learn how to incite a mob. Our liberals today could have been Le Bon’s study subjects.

Then they claim Sally Yates was upholding the Constitution (e.g. Nancy Pelosi). I’d love for her to show me exactly where in the Constitution does it say we must take in refugees without vetting?
Mob psychology has little to do with the history of liberalism. And how can one compare Hitler and Mussolini to the liberals of yesteryear or those of today? These two leaders were fascist, authoritarian dictators.

Congress sets immigration law, not the Executive. Ask President Obama.

In theory Congress does determine immigration law. But in the age of the imperial presidency the executive has been ceded or claimed broad power. Specifically in regards to immigration the president has broad statutory powers.

The Take Care clause of the Constitution reigns that in - “[The President] shall take Care that the Laws be faithfully executed.” Art. II, §3

Trump got congressional approval to do it.
Almost no one in Congress knew about Mr. Trump’s executive order until after he signed it. Even his new Secretary of Homeland Security didn’t know about it until after it was signed.

Yup. The Sec of Defense, Mattis, was really upset actually.

This is what I’m talking about. My understanding is that this is an authority a congress in the past has granted the president. That’s what I meant. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Whenever the President finds that the entry of any aliens or of any class of aliens into the United States would be detrimental to the interests of the United States, he may by proclamation, and for such period as he shall deem necessary, suspend the entry of all aliens or any class of aliens as immigrants or nonimmigrants, or impose on the entry of aliens any restrictions he may deem to be appropriate.
