Before Trump election:
Ryan called Trump’s proposed ban on Muslim immigration “unconstitutional,” blasted his attacks on a Mexican-American judge as “racist,” and chided the candidate for refusing to quickly disavow support from a white supremacist.

Before Trump election: Calls to ban Muslims from entering the U.S. are offensive and unconstitutional.— Governor Mike Pence (@GovPenceIN)

It’s amazing the lack of integrity and how the desire for power can corrupt so many.
Except Muslims aren’t mentioned, and it’s not even a ban.

Trump said he was going to ban Muslims.

This week he is executing Executive Orders to fulfill campaign promises.

This sure quacks like a duck.

He’s doing a pretty bad job at fulfilling his promise then. Besides, his EO is just based off the list the Obama Administration compiled of countries that impose extraordinary terror risk.

This “Obama List” is just a distractor. No person from any of these countries has killed someone on American soil in a terrorist attack. What are we being protected from?

If these countries would just get a Trump hotel, they can be taken off the list, like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Egypt.

So your suggestion is that we wait until someone from those countries kills a US citizen before we impose a temporary halt on immigration from those areas? Even though all it is is an attempt to revise the vetting system?

In reading articles around the internet and this forum, the acting AG is being praised by the same folks who ripped into Kim Davis for refusing to do her job. Interesting.
And the same folks applauding this firing, would have been up in arms had Davis been fired for refusing to follow the law.

I thought they believed Obama was weak on terror and yet they use his list?

Lol good argument. You realize his grandparents were slaughtered in the Holocaust? Also, are you telling our pope and bishops and sisters who have unequivocally spoken out against this to go away with much stronger language? Cooool.
what a typical liberal reply…:tsktsk::tsktsk::tsktsk:

In terms of real, concrete threat, based on experience, we should then also ban immigrants from Scotland, Canada, and Korea. Citizens of these countries have also not killed anybody on US soil in a terrorist attack.

Oh, wait. They have Trump properties. Never Mind.

But it is NOT a Muslim ban. And it’s temporary too until a better vetting process is in place. The outcry now is more on the symbolism rather than the actual executive action which is not unprecedented.
as usual, most people don’t even understand what they are protesting.

Australians haven’t caused the death of one US citizen yet one of our NBA players will be unable to play against Toronto Raptors due to him being born in Sudan, even though he is Catholic, left Sudan at 5yo and only holds an Australian passport.

Another Australian teenager going on a Space Camp trip to Florida has had his application for a visa rejected even though he was born in Australia, never been to Iran and only holds an Australian passport. His parents are Iranian citizens, therefore he is an Iranian citizen. The Iran government doesn’t allow their citizens to renounce citizenship until they are 25yo AND serve compulsory military service in the case of males.

Perhaps Australia should ban Americans, they are responsible for a lot of the terror happening in the world. 😦

Probably. I would have a few months ago. Still, I don’t think they’re fair comparisons. Whether or not this firing was justified I don’t know for sure. At least in Davis’ case, however, she seemed to have a valid defense. I could be remembering wrong, but I’m pretty sure they couldn’t charge her with anything (at least at the time) because a new law still had to be written. All the court did was invalidate the existing one (DOMA, I think). So, she was acting under her state’s law.

Serving in the Obama DOJ opposing the travel ban on moral grounds I’d the height of hypocrisy.

If this is your argument on this issue then you are just disqualifying yourself. None of the countries you mentioned have strong ISIS presence. The objective is about fighting or preventing ISIS from infiltrating the US.

You should be mentioning more Middle Eastern countries where ISIS are likely to be present but not included in the present list.

If you’re saying the President shouldn’t do this because nobody has been killed by ISIS so far then how sure you are that there will be none later? Are you going to gamble your life and regret about it only when it happens?

And the point of my post is that, if you look at history and where the threat has come from, it’s not the seven countries on the list. Pure and simple.

But my post was satire, and snarky. There is no threat from Yemen. Just like there is no threat from Canada.

The land of the FREE and the home of the BRAVE. Not the home of the 'fraidy cats following a fascist. I have served my country. I understand the threat. However, the bigger threat, right now, is to liberty and what makes our country great.
