British Family Accidentally Enters U.S., Detained by ICE

Honestly, I don’t think you’ll believe anybody. You’ve already made up your mind what you want to believe despite the reports (i.e. evidence) that I’ve posted.
I have already pointed out twice in this thread that I am not arguing that conditions in the detention centers are good, only the wisdom of relying on the statements of people who have already been shown to have lied.
Why is race in quotes? What else would you call it?
Why did you write what you wrote: that there are people who do not “believe” poor Latinos but who may believe rich Anglos?

Basically you are saying that if we do not agree with you, we are racist.

Believe me, there were multiple reports of the tornado in my neighborhood.
Doesn’t mean everyone talking about it is telling the truth.
If you have evidence that the reports I posted are lies - and your accusation that their authors are liars - go ahead and pony up on it. Otherwise, if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.

Racial bias is one possibility. I’m willing to entertain others.

Please answer my question. Why did you write race in quotes?
It’s too bad we don’t have video evidence for any other claims.
So official governmental and NGO reports need to be on video for you to believe them?
The title and the article no longer support your narrative. So we now want to change the subject.
Whatever you want to believe. But I’ve been consistent from get-go.

I did earlier in the thread.

Given the supporting article has the video to tell us that the group was being less than truthful, I am simply pointing out how nice it would be to have video evidence for any other claims.
It may make the difference between an unsubstantiated rumor and a documented fact.
But I’ve been consistent from get-go.
The title and supporting article would appear to show otherwise.

I did earlier in the thread.

You actually didn’t. I posted the reports in #94, and you never refuted them. In fact, you never even responded.

Official governmental and NGO reports come in PDF format, not videos. You’ll need more proof that they’re lying than, “I don’t like the format.”

Can you provide evidence that a huge swath of internal government watchdogs, academics, detainees, and human rights attorneys have all conspired to concoct made-up conditions of these camps?
The title and supporting article would appear to show otherwise.
If that’s how you’d like to dodge the topic, so be it.

I responded to the article posted in the original post for the thread.
It contains the video evidence to show the group less than truthful.

Well, I’m not responding to those as they have no bearing on the title and supporting article for this thread.

Who is dodging?
I am responding to the article supporting the title of this thread. I have found sufficient evidence that the British family is lying to us.

The really entertaining part is that the evidence was present in the article from the beginning.
So if the intent was to provide evidence from the article to disparage the border patrol, not much attention was being paid…the article actually exonerated the border patrol and provides the evidence of the lie the British family told.

Look, there’s not much I can do if you don’t approve of my thread title, but I made clear from the offset the aspect of this issue that I wish to discuss. You don’t believe the family and REFUSE to believe a wide swath of corroborating witnesses confirming egregious camp conditions. Again, if you don’t have data to refute them, come clean and admit it. That’s your personal choice, but it seems like your “work” here is done.

Oh, and as evidence above, border patrol has done a great job disparaging itself. It doesn’t need my help.
Because Latino being a race seems to vary.
I never once called “Latino” a race.

It is uncharitable to put words into other peoples’ mouths like that. I postulated racial bias as one possibility for the refusal to believe the horrid conditions in ICE camps. Nobody called you a bigot, so stand down. We’ll agree to disagree on whether or not to believe the couple. But is there another reason why you or anyone else is refusing to believe that the conditions are substandard?

One person upthread just said that he didn’t care if people were suffering in the camps. I’m hoping your own response it more humane . . .

I think then that you ought to re-read your original post in this thread.

I have never said I don’t believe the conditions are substandard.

I reposted it quite recently. I am responsible for what I say. I am not responsible for what you choose to understand.
