Dear Galilea,

Thank you for remembering me! You are in my prayers always! God bless you and be with you!

Much love,

allhers:

I hate to even write this, but I will. I have been in a lot of pain due to severe migraines (for 2 wks. now). I’ve been to top specialists. I also have a severe intestinal problem, blah blah blah. Anyway, at this point, it seems that satan is getting the better of me. I am getting very discouraged (once again). The pain is unrelenting. I have no time to recuperate. Life seems to pass me by. There are “moments” of joy, but they are few and far between. My family hates to see me this way. I avoid family situations at times. I don’t think people like to be around a sick individual. They don’t know what to do. Heaven seems so far away, and yet at times I feel I can almost touch it. I have asked God to remove this cross, but I don’t think He is going to. It has been so long. Please keep praying for me. One thing after another keeps cropping up - healthwise. It’s really quite strange. But then, God works in mysterious ways. You are in my prayers always! Thank you for thinking of me.
Much love,

Jesus, please encourage and embrace our sister again and again. Holy Spirit, please inspire her specialists to discover all that is really happening and find ways to restore her health. Please give hope to her and her family that she will recover. Please heal her, including her intestinal problems and her migraines; and let her repeatedly experience Your great love for her.

Jesus exausted from pain and abuse, almost expiring with your last beaths hanging on the cross. But overflowing with the eternal life of love and mercy, You answered to the thief, who was next to You and gifted him to be on that same day in Paradise with You.
Today I pray to that same overflowing eternal love and mercy, that You bring healing and strength to this daughter of yours, by the merits of your Holy Wounds.

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Wounds of our Lord Jesus Christ to heal those of our souls.”
“My Jesus, pardon and mercy, by the merits of Thy Holy Wounds.”

Most holy Apostle Saint Jude, friend of Jesus, I place myself in your care at this difficult time.Pray for me; help me know that I need not face my troubles alone. Please join me in my need, asking God to send me consolation in my sorrow, courage in my fear, and healing in the midst of my suffering. Ask our loving God to fill me with the grace to accept whatever may lie ahead for me and my loved ones, and to strengthen my faith in God’s healing power. Thank you Saint Jude, for the promise of hope you hold out to all who believe, and inspire me to give this gift of hope to others as it has been given to me. Amen

Galilea,

Thank you for this beautiful prayer. I will pray it for you, also. God bless you, friend!

:hug3: Much love,

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Prayers and Intercessions

Christ has taken pity on his hungry people and has worked wonders of love for them. In gratitude and devotion we pray to him:
  • Lord, show us your love.
Lord, we acknowledge that all the good things that came to us today came to us from your kindness.
May that kindness not be wasted on us: may it bear fruit in our hearts.
Light and salvation of all peoples, watch over those whom you have sent all over the world to bear witness to you:
kindle the fire of your Spirit within them.
Make everyone work together to make the world a more perfect place:
guide them to respond to the most urgent needs of our time.
Doctor and healer of both body and soul, soothe the sick and be close to the dying:
in your compassion come to us also, and restore our strength.
Deign to add those who have died to the number of your saints,
whose names are written in the book of life.

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those that trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

O God, you are the strength of those who hope in you: in your kindness, attend to our prayers.
Weak and mortal, we can achieve nothing without you: always give us your support,
so that we carry out your commandments, pleasing you in both intention and action.

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.
Amen.

mom4truth I Pray in the name of our Lord that you find comfort from your afflictions and that in our Lord that you may find peace to overcome your struggles. I pray that the Blessed mother Shelters you in her mantle and in times of pain and weakness carry you to the foot of Christ.

Dearest Heavenly Father. Please help Your Child get through this. She is carrying so much and her plate is so full yet she continues to pray for others and gives so much of herself to others. Heal her bodily pains and free her from so much anxiety. She is so special …as you already know…and we love her so much…we would all be lost without her support, prayers and words of wisdom. Please gift her with a miracle…Thank you God for we know wherever 2 or 3 are gathered…Amen
Keeping you in my prayers and there is always a candle lit for you at Mass…

Thank you everyone, again, for yoru kind words and prayers. Illness is a continuous struggle that at times I try to fight, and at times I try to accept. I had been doing not too badly with the “accepting” part. But, when the kids seem to need me or things go awry in the family, the illness can stop me dead in my tracks. It’s so frustrating. I pray for all of you A LOT! I know you pray for me A LOT! I am so appreciative of all the kind words and prayers you have sent me. I am doing the same you. I keep you all in my heart and prayers. To you fathers out there: Happy Father’s Day!

Much love,

THANK YOU ALL!

I feel like such a burden …
I don’t look at you this way at all and anyone who knows about Redemptive Suffering sees in you a blessing to our world.
Take the time to read this once in awhile, it is very awesome and just read a little bit at a time, take it in. It is very long but worth the read.
John Paul II wrote this – On The Christian Meaning of Human Suffering-
APOSTOLIC LETTER
SALVIFICI DOLORIS
OF THE SUPREME PONTIFF
JOHN PAUL II
TO THE BISHOPS, TO THE PRIESTS,
TO THE RELIGIOUS FAMILIES
AND TO THE FAITHFUL
OF THE CATHOLIC CHURCH
(This part is under part V. SHARERS IN THE SUFFERING OF CHRIST)
20. The texts of the New Testament express this concept in many places. In the Second Letter to the Corinthians the Apostle writes: “We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For while we live we are always being given up to death for Jesus’ sake, so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh … knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus”(58).

Saint Paul speaks of various sufferings and, in particular, of those in which the first Christians became sharers "for the sake of Christ ". These sufferings enable the recipients of that Letter to share in the work of the Redemption, accomplished through the suffering and death of the Redeemer. The eloquence of the Cross and death is, however, completed by the eloquence of the Resurrection. Man finds in the Resurrection a completely new light, which helps him to go forward through the thick darkness of humiliations, doubts, hopelessness and persecution. Therefore the Apostle will also write in the Second Letter to the Corinthians: “For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too”(59). Elsewhere he addresses to his recipients words of encouragement: “May the Lord direct your hearts to the love of God and to the steadfastness of Christ”(60). And in the Letter to the Romans he writes: “I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship”(61).

The very participation in Christ’s suffering finds, in these apostolic expressions, as it were a twofold dimension. If one becomes a sharer in the sufferings of Christ, this happens because Christ has opened his suffering to man, because he himself in his redemptive suffering has become, in a certain sense, a sharer in all human sufferings. Man, discovering through faith the redemptive suffering of Christ, also discovers in it his own sufferings; he rediscovers them, through faith, enriched with a new content and new meaning…

I always remember you in prayer. Thank you for keeping me in your prayers too. :blessyou:

allhers:

You are so kind to have taken the time to write and to have looked up all the information on suffering. As you advised, I have read a little bit of it (right now I have a horrible migraine & am in bed). I will read the rest tomorrow. This has been a great reminder for me as to what this life is really about. I thank you so much for your kind words and prayers. I am praying for your intentions also. I prayed for all at CAF at Mass today! God bless you, my friend.

Much love,

From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:

Psalm 90 (91)

The protection of the Most High

He will shade you with his wings; you will not fear the terror of the night.
He who lives under the protection of the Most High
dwells under the shade of the Almighty.
He will say to the Lord:
“You are my shelter and my strength,
my God, in whom I trust”.

For he will free you from the hunter’s snare,
from the voice of the slanderer.
He will shade you with his wings,
you will hide underneath his wings.
His faithfulness will be your armour and your shield.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day;
nor the plague that walks in the shadows,
nor the death that lays waste at noon.

A thousand will fall at your side,
at your right hand ten thousand will fall,
but you it will never come near.
You will look with your eyes
and see the reward of sinners.
For the Lord is your shelter and refuge;
you have made the Most High your dwelling-place.
Evil will not reach you,
harm cannot approach your tent;
for he has set his angels to guard you
and keep you safe in all your ways.

They will carry you in their arms
in case you hurt your foot on a stone.
You walk on the viper and cobra,
you will tread on the lion and the serpent.

Because he clung to me, I shall free him:
I shall lift him up because he knows my name.
He will call upon me and for my part, I will hear him:
I am with him in his time of trouble.
I shall rescue him and lead him to glory.
I shall fill him with length of days
and show him my salvation.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit,
as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen.

sprouts & phoenix:

Thank you both so much for remembering me and praying for me. I remembered all at CAF at Mass today and added all your intentions during Communion.

I am considering a surgery for my migraines. Please pray that I do the right thing regarding this. I need to go to work to help my family out. Thank you all so much!

Much love,
