I don’t find this offensive in any way. If they are saying “don’t discriminate against people who aren’t like you/the majority”, then the owners of this restaurant are right.

It’s not “promoting” any particular type of behaviour, it’s simply saying that gay people are (first and foremost) just people.
I agree. I think people are just associating it with the gay pride parades themselves, not taking it at face value.

I’m confused; what about this is against Catholic morals?

Does anyone here seriously disagree with the statement “we are all the same inside?”
Yes. It completely contradicts their long held slogan “Have it your way” You can’t have it both ways.

The proceeds go towards a scholarship for LGBTQ students. So it’s more than just a political posturing or social commentary.

I can understand thinking the gay burger is silly or that BK is thereby endorsing gay sexuality, but I can’t understand what could possibly wrong this latter part: that they are funding scholarships for gay students. I assume they’ll be being taught math, science, writing, and the like – all good things.

v basically what Prodigal said.

They’re not getting scholarships to learn how to date same-sex partners or something. Why is it bad to help send LGBT kids to college, many of whom have parents who absolutely refuse to pay for their college as a result of their sexual orientation?
Yes. It completely contradicts their long held slogan “Have it your way” You can’t have it both ways.
“Have it your way” means “Express yourself.” “We’re all the same inside” means “We all have equal human dignity.”

I see no dichotomy between expressing oneself and having equal dignity.

From the article: “The inspiration behind the unusual burger wrap and video, he says, is Burger King’s localized efforts to put into motion actions that support its recently-tweaked slogan: ‘Be Your Way.’”

So for what it’s worth, the slogan itself has changed. There still doesn’t seem to be any dichotomy, however.

Burger King basically gave all of its Christian customers the middle finger by coming out in support of an agenda which is hostile to Christians.

Telling gay people they have equal dignity to straight people is giving Christians a middle finger? Since when?

You are totally over thinking my comment. Go back and reread. This time, think Whoppers, not people.

But here’s an idea. Fast food is bad for health as it’s linked to obesity which increases risks for diabetes and other diseases. Since homosexual and lesbian behaviors are bad for health with AIDS, Venereal Diseases, cancer (yes homosexuals, lesbians and transexuals have high cancer rates as sex changes with dangerous hormones cause cancer) and high sexual abuse of children, the gay pride whopper will give you increased risk of obesity and bad for health just as homosexual, lesbian transexuality are bad for health. People do need to eat to live and while fast food is bad for health, there are people who mainly eat this because that’s what they can afford, like and so on. We must continue associating homosexuality, lesbianism and transexuality with things which are bad for health such as smoking and fast food. Eating whoppers is bad for health just as homosexuality is bad for health. Associate homosexuality with things which are bad for health because homosexuality is bad for health.

Is it not true that the “Gay Pride” movement calls Christians hateful bigots for not agreeing with homosexual behavior? All of the law suits by gay activists against Christians and protests at the Vatican had me assuming that they don’t like us.

How many are we talking about here, really?

I will continue to eat at Burger King occasionally. For one thing I am more than 1,000 miles away from the one BK location that did this, and I assume only on one day.

The alternative here is McDonalds with their plastical food and to me BK is marginally better.

Has anyone here read the CCC which states that people with SSA are to be treated with dignity and respect? I see little of dignity and respect in this thread.

Since fast food is bad for health as homosexuality transexuality is bad for health we can say that’s so gay as it’s assoc with something bad. Why homosexuals get offended by comments such as that’s so gay? Because they are offended by the truth you say about dangers of homosexual lesbian transexuality whether it be homosexuals molesting children, among other things. We need to continue associating homosexuality with things bad for health because homosexuality and transexuality are bad for health and associating this with drugs, tobacco and other things which harm the health is the way to do it. Obesity rates happen when people eat poorly such as mainly eating fast food and not exercising. The Whopper is bad for health and Burger King indirectly helped us by associating the Whopper with something that is useless and bad for health-homosexuality.

I think people on CAF can just sometimes not be aware of how their comments might come across, but from what I have experienced, everyone is at least theoretically committed to treating homosexuals with respect.

I have tried. Even when trying to explain with politeness and love and compassion how the lifestyle is disordered, I have been attacked, berated, ridiculed, etc…
It is difficult to maintain compassion in the face of such … not pride…but arrogance.
This gives me a glimpse at least of the incredible amount of mercy and compassion Our Lord has for all of us sinners.

God bless.

Let’s not act like any one group is singled out. There are tongue in cheek or worse comments about Republicans, Democrats, Protestants, men, women, pretty much every group in existence. They are all supposed to be treated with respect.

How many time has some called the Tea Party crazy loons? Homosexuals are not the only ones who are allowed to be defended for respect.
