Unless people know their own religion and history, what religion they’re born into means nothing. I envision many people on the edges of society gravitating to Islam. It is already happening in our prisons.

This is a religion that demands violence. I can’t even imagine why a woman would convert to Islam.
 
I think that every freedom-loving American should consider the French attitude nuts. If you want to wear anything, that’s your business.

The only place such garb is not allowed is areas of security, like banks. Next they’ll be telling nuns to take off their veils.

I believe the issue is the covering of one’s face. If anybody can where whatever they wish, then by the same token, they cannot wear whatever they wish and walk around in a thong.
Try walking around with a mask and a long cape or a extra long overcoat and going into a store, a restaurant, the airport and see what happens. Try going to get your driver license wearing a mask and you refuse to take it off.

This wearing of the burqa is not so much a religious issue as it is a cultural issue. Look at the many Muslim women that don’t wear them.
Would you feel comfortable getting into a plane with a bunch of people wearing long long over sized overcoats and masks?

The issue is the covering of faces not the long garbs.
BTW, nuns do not cover their faces.
