I am just going to leave, I think you have said some pretty mean things, but hey, I am just a kid, I have no honor, +I am a stupid ignorant, weak protestant, who will burn in hell for trying to believe.
If the way to heaven is to join a Church full of people like this, then I’d rather burn in hell.
I am glad you “defended” me even though I think your doing more bashing then defending, but I do not get you “people” cause you say “We are the true church of god, come to us brother” then you have a bat in the other hand threatening anyone who questions your authority over them.

ChristKnight,

You said: “If the way to heaven is to join a Church full of people like this, then I’d rather burn in hell.”

I’d like to say 2 things in reply:

First, I think you’ve read Huckleberry Finn one too many times.

Secondly, in all seriousness you do realize that the Roman Catholic Church isn’t “full of people like that”, don’t you? I mean, even if 100% of the Catholic posters on the Catholic Answers Forum were clones of each other w.r.t. attitudes and opinions (which isn’t the case, but that’s a whole other can of worms) it would tell you absolutely nothing about the attitudes and opinions of Catholics in general (nothing conclusive anyhow).

Hey ChristKnight! Yo, bro!! 🙂

Listen, just fyi, I’m not Catholic, but I can tell you that you will find idiots and jerks and mean people wherever you go – RC, Eastern Orthodox, Baptists, Methodist, evangelicals – heck, throw Buddhists, Muslims, and Hindus in there, too.

Its people, just remember that. Look, Jesus is the one you should be looking to anyway, not any man, or church, or organization, or leader – that’s how you get a cult.

You look to Jesus, read your Bible, love god with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself – and you’ll grow in grace and be okay. 😉

Only Jesus is perfect. Just remember that. We’re all sinners, and we kind of show that all too often. And also remember that not everyone who calls themselves a “Christian” really is a Christian.

Blessings, bro.

Amen, brother. Amen.

When people point out the problems that exist at CAF (which, by the way, I don’t by any means wish to deny or make light of) I often suggest that they take a look at a sampling of Protestant forums on the internet. If they do, I think they will see that many of them are just as bad, or even worse, than CAF.

The meanest on this forum are also the loudest and most belligerent voices. Really they are hateful, and a bad representation of the Catholic faith. They aren’t demonstrative of it for sure, but seriously they do cloud those with more knowledge, and with more faith, and with better manners.

At any rate, that has been my experience.

To be honest, some people on these forums are so mean-spirited, that I wonder sometimes if they are Catholic. I suspect some of them are anti-Catholics just trying to give the Church a bad name. Because if they’re truly trying to give a good witness for the Church, they’re doing a dreadful job of it.

And no offense to them, but they’re also cowards. Never do I encounter people like that face to face, yet behind the computer they become “super apologists.”

CAF does NOT represents Catholicism
Now that’s true. Catholicism represents Catholicism. Always go to the source. One thing that I think the Catholic Church does very well in is administration and record keeping. We keep some serious records on everything. If you want to know what the Church teaches about how to boil eggs, if there is any documentation on it you can have access to it pretty easily and you can read up for yourself what the Church really teaches about it rather than allowing the tools, eer I mean, fine posters on CAF tell you what it says.

**Sister Amy, are the Mahometans who are killing Christians in Iraq and elsewhere good representations of the Mahometan faith?

How about jihadists. Are they good representatives?

If not, where are the Mahometan leaders who are publicly repudiating them?**

Some people are so cowardly and post horrible things they would never say in real life… or maybe they would… maybe they are just THAT awful?

It’s not just CAF. I posted on my local newspaper forum my pro-life support and someone responded that he wished my mother would’ve died giving birth to me. No idea what that has to do with anything… but what a rotten thing to say. Oh, and the mods there are non-existant. At least here people get banned.

To the OP who said he would rather go to hell then spend an eternity with the mean spirited CAF posters. Don’t count on it that you won’t be stuck with some of them down there?

I’m sure there are mean-spirited people who never set foot in a church of any kind.

Does Islam not teach hate? How can you accuse others who denounce evil and oppose it as “hateful”, when your religion preaches hatred and intolerance against the unbelievers? Your views are “clouded” by your own blindness in not seeing evil in Muhammad’s actions and accepting and condoning his warped & self serving moral code.

Well… sure. 🤷

They’re everywhere. At work, I deal constantly with “email warriors”. They’re tough and abusive in email, but get them face to face in a conference room and they roll over like puppy getting his belly scratched.

That said, the folks at CAF are amateurs. If you want to see some REAL fighting, come to the Anglican church. Remember, they don’t have Pope or central canon law agreed on by all. All they have are opinions and arguments.

No Paul, I tell people to come to the Anglican Church to hear us proclaiming that Jesus is our Lord and Savior. I must admit that I have missed happily the cage matches that you must of experienced. What I have seen is us worshipping God, proclaiming His death and resurrection, welcoming all baptised to share in the Lord’s Supper, fantastic fellowship, visiting the sick, helping the needy and the widows just for starters. I hate to see someone that leaves my church paint it with such a broad brush that it can come off as ill will. There is much love in my church family . Like a family there are disaggreements and we do have our share of nuts.

God bless you on your faith journey!

That sort of defence has at least two drawbacks: it doesn’t clear us of what is wrong in us; &, it may be good politics - but is it* Christian* ?
