I suspect any 1stAmendment challenge will strike these laws and give the suing party millions as compensation. Anyone want to join in on the suit?
There aren’t any first amendment issues here, this is just health care regulation. Anyone working in a nursing home who doesn’t want to refer to someone by their proper gender can find a different line of work.

I’m sure they will if they don’t want to make an innocent mistake and get sued. I find it hard to believe someone working in a nursing home would maliciously refuse to call someone by their proper gender.

There are plenty of people who would do that. Nursing home staff have done far worse and this would be an easy way to be emotionally abusive and get away with it unless the resident has agency (which is less likely if they are a resident at a nursing home) or a support system.

California is morally bankrupt, why aren’t they financially bankrupt as well! They keep making new expenses for themselves!

If the correct pronoun is place in air quotes, is that a violation of this law?
Seriously, I wonder how long it is going to be before people start suffering dysphoria because they’re forced to violate their sense of the plain truth. If you have to say “up” when you mean “down” and “right” when you mean “left” if it is a Tuesday, there will be some fraying around the edges.

Sounds like a good reason to become someone who never uses pronouns, just out of principle. Let them try to outlaw that.

In some languages, pronouns can be skipped altogether, like Latin or Polish.

Why is English always getting people in trouble? 🙂
Polish is my first language and pronouns are sometimes implied. Take wife, which is żona in Polish. No Polish person would miss that.

When we arrest a transgender person we are required to address them as whichever gender they prefer, and they have a right to be searched by an officer of the same gender. As of this point, if the individual is ultimately lodged in jail pending arraignment rather than released on an appearance ticket, he or she is still lodged according to biological sex.

I’m still waiting for the day when I am ordered to conduct a physical search of a biological female who identifies as male. Maybe I’ll make case law.
We usually go by what is on the DL or ID. While we normally house base on biology, sometimes we will house separately if the case is unusual, or we perceive some increased danger.

see cal-catholic.com/use-the-wrong-pronoun-go-to-jail/

“If liberal California legislators have their way, calling a transgender man “he” could result in a $1,000 fine and a year in prison.”

A proposed law which passed the California Senate, the “Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender Long-Term Care Facility Resident’s Bill of Rights,” will criminalize referring to a transgender nursing home resident by his/her actual gender.

So far this law would apply to nursing homes and not other arenas.
Going a little too far, I would say. This kind of so-called progressivism, which punishes people, I can do without.

I would develop the habit of speaking with out pronouns, or first names, if needed.
It sounds like you would be required to use their choice, so avoiding it could be deemed a transgression of the law.

But how can people be made to think good thoughts and not think bad thoughts if they aren’t punished?

Fostering of this punitive intimidation paradigm even against our children.

*** . . . She was told that whenever there is a pronoun mishap with this (first grade) biological boy who now claims to be a girl – the school must investigate . . . ***

The story linked in Cathoholic’s post is what should anger us the most. The very fact that they’re using our children as guinea pigs for their perverse experiments is to me an extremely evil sin that cries out for God’s justice! This goes way beyond offensive. Kindergartners and first graders? What in the hell are they thinking? Speaking of hell… it’s my belief that there will be hell to pay for those who authorize and perpetrate this nonsense on little kids.
*But he that shall scandalize one of these little ones that believe in me, it were better for him that a mill-stone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."
~ Matthew 18-6 ~

Public schools have turned into reeducation camps. Special Interest Groups with cooperation from the State will remove mom, dad and religious relatives from the equation. Kids in kindergarten have no capacity to fully understand human sexuality. They will not be allowed to be kids. They will be forced to comply.

The Gay, Lesbian, & Straight Education Network (GLSEN) has been Championing LGBTQ issues in K-12 education since 1990.

Take the story book King & King about homosexuals.

“In 2006, the parents of a Lexington, Mass., second grader protested that their son’s teacher read the fairy tale about gay marriage to the class without first warning parents. The book was used as part of a lesson about different types of weddings. “By presenting this kind of issue at such a young age, they’re trying to indoctrinate our children,” stated the parents. The incident renewed the efforts of Waltham, Mass.,-based Parents’ Rights Coalition to rid the state’s schools of books and lessons that advance the “homosexual agenda” in public schools. But U.S. District Court Judge Mark Wolf ruled in February that public schools are “entitled to teach anything that is reasonably related to the goals of preparing students to become engaged and productive citizens in our democracy.” Wolf said that the courts had decided in other cases that parents’ rights to exercise their religious beliefs were not violated when their children were exposed to contrary ideas in school.”

So, how did this book get into schools in the first place?

Tired of Transgender-Mania in the media. When will they focus on those of us who identify as another species? 😛
