This is something that has always bothered me but I haven’t actually done anything about it yet. I’ve been caught up in other big issues.
I remember when the Media Play (they sell electronic equipment, games, CD’s) near me added a very large “adult video” section to their store. All the movies there were covered with the translucent plastic covers, but it was adjacent to all the other sections. I had never seen such a cover and I wondered what they could be hiding. Imagine my surprise when I picked up the plastic cover.
It was after that when I looked up and noticed the name of the section I had wondered into…
That Media Play went out of business two weeks later.
I’m sure it was a coincidence, but I find it amusing nonetheless.
For now I guess the best thing to do is to complain, or cover them up. We need to strike at the root of the problem, though: our increasingly amoral society.
As far as that goes, I have no idea how to do it other than teaching by example. I would love a more active approach, but I haven’t come up with one yet. I’m open to suggestions…
