Good night to you too. Later on, if you can come up with an answer, perhaps you can finally explain why Jesus taught us different things. You could also, perhaps, explain why Jesus teaches other people other different things.

If not, I’ll guess I’ll just have to chalk you up as yet another poster making extremely questionable claims about receiving accurate knowledge from Jesus.

– Mark L. Chance.
True church members share their bible experiences with one another. You have not. You want to argue the validity of scripture and how we all interpret it. I wont. Walking in the spirit of Jesus is always a cultivating experience with what we, the fellowship of believers share with one another.

Chalk me up, you received your award right here, right now

You won’t? But that’s precisely what you’ve been doing. In an earlier post, you claim to have authoritatively interpreted a section of John’s Gospel in a way that contradicts the understanding of the majority of Christians spread across several different faith traditions. Now, after being repeatedly asked to explain why Jesus tells you something different than he tells me (and others), you conveniently come up with a set of rules that let you off the hook and make me look like the bad guy.

Well, since I don’t want to look like a bad guy, here’s what Jesus Christ told me about the section of John’s Gospel previously referenced: Jesus offers his blood and body to us under the appearance of bread and wine, and that consuming his blood and body are one means by which Jesus offers his grace to us who faithfully follow his commandments.

So, now that pesky little objection of your is out of the way: Why did Jesus teach you something different than he taught me?

What is your authority for that?

If you say Jesus told you… in what form did He tell you…

Warm fuzzy feelings, or a burning in the boosom are already taken by other cults. New revelation stopped with the death of St John, the Beloved Apostle… a Catholic who did not “cultivate” his experience with Jesus. He saw, he learned and he gave it to those who would listen. (listen means obey, by the way)

My authority for the Real Presence is Jesus Himself, as recorded by St John the Catholic Apostle in John 6, and as strongly re-presented by St Paul, the Catholic Apostle… and as passed on to you and me in the form of the Canon of Scripture given to us by the Early Church - Catholic by the way.

One…Holy…Apostolic… oh, and Catholic !!!

You must daily decide to accept… or as those in John 6 did… just walk away… Jesus hopes you make the right choice. Don’t be stubborn now.

And did you misunderstand me? I believe it is his body and blood, but its not to be put into a box and placed on a table to adore it, like we actually command him to be there.
Your profile says you are 32 years old. So you left the Church last year? I find it incredible that you could have been a practicing Catholic for 30 years and never actually understood the most beautiful mystery of Christ’s life in the world today.

Not even a half-baked Catholic would come up with “we actually command him to be there.” I would be interested in knowing what Catholic Church ever ppresented the matter to you that way. And if, as you say, it IS the Body and Blood of Christ, then there is no other response appropriate to it than adoration.

My mistake is I should of went back into more of what I believe Jesus is teaching me instead of hastily answering. Yes, it is his flesh and blood under the appearences of wine, and Jesus does offer one of his means to obtain his graces.

But I am and was concerned of the deliberate “storing” the unused portions of him that religious sects of christianity perform. Scripture tells us God cannot be put into a box.

Jesus taught me what I know, and only him. Jesus taught everyone who listened, but there are those that put him in a box and believe it.
So I understand your vague reply to be saying that none of the Catholic and Orthodox Fathers and theologians for 2000 years were taught by Jesus.

Did Jesus teach anybody before Luther and Calvin? If so, who?

Then Jesus must not be teaching the vast majority of Protestants, who would strongly disagree with you. Is that the case?

Interesting, because that’s quite different than what you first said:

1Christ1Church:
Spiritally, if you partake in the remberence what he did at the last supper, you eat and drink his blood, spiritually.
Which is it? Do we consume Christ’s flesh and blood “spiritually” (to use your description) or do we consume Christ’s real flesh and real blood?

What should we do with the unused hosts? We keep some for later distribution to those who because of disability cannot come to Mass. Where should we keep them?

And while we are waiting for them to be distributed, do they suddenly not become the body of Christ?

Where?

The Jews certainly believe that He was in the tabernacle!!

And you really think that the reservation of the Sacred Body and Blood, and adoration of it amounts to keeping God in a box? What is the appropriate disposition of the unconsumed hosts (since the Precious Blood must ALL be consumed)? Toss 'em to the birds? Can you really be Catholic and not know that the Sacrament is reserved so that it can be taken to the sick?

C’mon. You were never Catholic, were you?

When we are in his spirit(Jesus), the bread and wine are his real body and blood.

Like I said, my haste typing before made waste.

sounds like we have a John Kerry here… starting to take all kinds of different points of view… Thank God that God is God… and He gave us His Church to teach us what is right, and whatever is left… is left.

So, then, it is your contention that Christ Jesus is really, substantially present in the bread and wine, and that the bread and wine have ceased to exist substantially to be replaced by the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Jesus? If so, I must admit I was wrong about a difference of interpretation regarding those few verses from John’s Gospel.

That’s understandable.

But I’m still confused about this “can’t put God in a box” Scripture that you claim is Acts 17:24 (from Paul’s speech to the pagan Greeks in the Areopagus in which Paul contrasts the true God with the pagans’ polytheism). If it turns out that what Jesus has taught me about this Scripture differs from what he taught you, it seems as if you’re still back to having to answer that pesky question.

Because you accept second hand news of God. I go directly to the source of my creation.
God wants each of us to walk with Him, to have a personal relationship with Him, to hear His voice. Many Christians are bound by fear and are looking for something safer----a religious system where they wont have to walk with God.

1Christ1Church:
Sure, you dont mind if I add to on to the portion of scripture you presented here, do you? After all, we must take care to present the whole teaching Jesus gives us here. Lets extend John6:53-56 to John6:53-65

Lets look at line especially at line 63-“The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you are Spirit and they are life.”

Spiritally, if you partake in the remberence what he did at the last supper, you eat and drink his blood, spiritually. You eat, nash in your mouth, his body and drink his blood to remember what he did at the cross.

Our Lord and Savior’s crucifixtion and resurrection is one and done.

He now sits at the right hand of the Father. Not in a tabernacle
God does not live in a temple made of hands.

God is everywhere, isn’t He? That must include every temple built by human hands. So what point are you trying to make?

And I hear this quoted often which is in fact a religious system taught by men. Go figure. There is no religoius system safer than the one that says I don’t have to take responsibility for my actions. The fact is this is used as a kind of trump card when they really have nothing to say because they follow a man made doctrine, not one from Christ.

Sola Fide
Sola Scriptura
Me and Jesus

Slogans from a religious system, but nothing more than slogans. Surface without depth.
