Hello, my name is Tommy, and this probably sounds like a dumb question. But I believe the judgement of who is fit for heaven is not based upon the answers to theological intricacies- such as who is right about their theological beliefs and who is wrong. I’m starting to see that it is more about helping the poor, visiting the prisoner, feeding the hungry, etc…
You know, when Brother Dorsey came in, it was like- Full steam ahead; let’s blow this guy out of the water. And the poor guy has been attacked when he plainly told you that he did not come to try to convert anyone and that he wasn’t going to be converted. Perhaps Catholics can look at the Blessed Mother Teresa as an example. When she was in India, she never told the natives to accept her theological beliefs so they could attain heaven. What she said was that the people should serve the Religion they had been serving, with as much charity and humility as possible. I don’t know which Mormon to compare it to, because I know very little about it. But what I do know is that all these attacks on people are not going to accomplish anything. Want proof of that? Remember September 11th, 2002 when the planes hit the twin towers and obliberated them? It only caused hatred and strife to be stirred up in America! Why can’t we just agree to disagree, and emphasize the goodness of both theological points of reference. To the Catholics: Why let these people of a different faith bother you? Who cares if they don’t believe in the Trinity or Eternal damnation or whatever. Most of these people are good people, anyway. Isn’t ending poverty in the world a more commendable goal than worrying about some theological junk that matters little in the long run. To the Mormons: Apologies for some of the guys on this website, Any religious tradition is suspicious of something that is different from them. Why are we hating and devouring each other when LOVE and CHARITY are the EXEMPLARY values that should be upheld. That is what Christ taught, and the scriptures clarify - that love is the supreme law.
