Can Catholics be Democrats?

  1. It’s a proven fact that lower taxes increase government revenue because people invest better when they spend their own money. Even some Democrats begrugdingly acknowledge this which is why states like HW, MA, IL and VT have elected GOP governors.
  2. Whoever said the entire Republican was great when it came to spending?
  3. A party that cannot see the plot, however unintentional, to have a welfare state as a permanent voting base or seeks to understand basic economic incentive is anything but honest.

Who proved it? Which journal was the proof published in? If an economist could prove that lowering tax rates increases revenue, it would probably mean a nobel prize.

Now, does the opposite hold? Do higher tax rates lead to less revenue?

As Scripture tells us, go out into the highways and hedges and tell people that they are nowhere near being a Catholic. No, wait, that is not at all what we are commanded to do.

Please, OP, know that this sort of condescending tone is not the voice of the Church.

The communist party is focused on killing Christians all over the world, ending free speech and all other rights…yet people claim that they are closer to being like Jesus ’ teachings. Interesting logic.

There is no redeeming quality about dems…they are sick people. I was sick too in my 20’s when my brain was still forming and I was confused by college propaganda. You should grow out of it at some point, and some people never do.

Correct. Our solutions arent within politics but that makes being an independent (like Bernie the anti Catholic) just as worthless.

Are you going into the hedges to convince people that Catholics can vote for baby murder because some babies are inconvenient? You are nowhere near being able to tell anybody how to evangelize.
I do agree that it is our duty, and this is what we real Catholics try to do, but it is very hard and draining work because so many people are stuck in the mud of their own beliefs, and resistant to any change.

Each increase of taxes corresponds to a 3% reduction in GDP. Taxes are theft. Look at the debt-you should not need more evidence than that. We are now paying taxes that go to interest only.
People work hard for their money, and the govt does nothing for it. Who do you think values it more?
We are destroying our families with welfare, look at the black families in the USA and tell me it is helping. Crime is rampant, anger is rampant, and there are no fathers in the home. This is what the govt does with hard earned monies that they take from taxes.

Everything we do is evangelization. Each of is us a living, breathing example of a Christian.

Is that what happened when Clinton raised taxes, GDP fell by 3%? You are going to have to cite your data on that one. Also, the Church has never defined taxation as theft.

Actually, I am one of the biggest proponents of small government on these threads.

The problem with voting third party:

3.I have to wonder if people vote 3rd Party to avoid being called a racist, bigot, sexist, poor-hating granny-off-the-cliff tosser.
If so, all you are doing is feeding the crocodile hoping it eats you last.

I’ll have to disagree vehemently with 3. I voted third party because I could not in good conscience vote for either Dem or Republican presidential candidates in 2016. It’s that simple. Voting your conscience is never a bad thing IMHO.

Voting your conscience is what you are supposed to do and one’s conscience has to be well-formed.

Thanks for clarifying your stance.

How’s this theory working out in Kansas?

the theory was never properly implemented. the spending did not get cut, the deductions were not eliminated and loopholes didn’t get closed.

you can’t cut taxes and increase spending every year thereafter but 1.

the real issue: will the gop do the same thing on the federal level or will they properly cut taxes, spending and close loopholes. i think we have to many progressives in the gop to get a real tax plan

Too many progressives in the GOP, yep that’s the problem alright 😂😂😂

I’m a member of the ASP and I voted Maturen/Munoz in 2016.

Just something to think about, I thought he said it really well. God Bless.

I also think that Trump is pretty good though, and that the media have demonized him a lot. I think if anyone else other then Trump went against Clinton, they would have been eaten alive, since Trump could hit back as hard as he got.

Sorry, I cannot in good conscience support a vicious sexual predator like Trump.

I heard him on tape.

It wasn’t locker room talk.

It wasn’t a “private conversation so nunya”

It was a recording of a sexual predator exhibiting sexually predatory behavior.

And that just scratches the surface of the issues with Trump.

Trump’s not a sexual predator. Stop conflating the issue. And if you’re virtue-signaling to the far left, don’t bother. They’ll turn on you in the end anyways.

Fair enough so long as you went 3rd party and not Clinton. I would also say that those words as shameful and as bad as they are do not necessarily make him a sexual predator, on the verge perhaps. And I think he is not anything like that today.

So did I, funny it was held from 2005 until it was just between Clinton and Trump, so one couldn’t opt a 3rd party without essentially handing their vote to Clinton.
And that just scratches the surface of the issues with Trump.
LOL if that was only a scratch on the surface, the DNC would have released it much earlier, you know, when there was still opportunity to rally around another front runner. Instead it was a rigged election, thank God they didn’t win even in spite of how rigged it was.

God Bless

Thank you for reading
