Can Catholics be Democrats?

I am a life long member of the American Democratic Party. I am also a lifelong Catholic. I pray in all things to God, both alone and with my husband daily, pray the rosary, attend bible study, volunteer at church, and go to mass. I trust in God alone. I prayed and vote with my conscience. I fully support all of the values of the democratic party which are based on community and social responsibility, universal health care, against the death penalty, against privatizing prisons for profit, support government regulations to protect citizens, and I support working with the rest of the world to save our planet’s environment. I do not support abortion, but I do not support criminalizing abortions, or criminalizing gay people. Jesus ministered to the sinners; He did not come into this world to persecute but to save. http://www.usccb.org/bible/mark/2 Jesus heard this and said to them [that], “Those who are well do not need a physician,* but the sick do. I did not come to call the righteous but sinners.”
There is a sickness in our society now where people have become so blinded by their self righteousness and disdain for others who disagree, a sickness where we can say we support the unborn but allow the now constant slaughter of innocents from mass shootings, say we are followers of Jesus, yet spew the most vicious hateful attacks on people who speak out against injustice, and who openly admit without a hint of hypocrisy that they voted for and still support trump, the like of which no one anywhere in the world would have imagined holding the office of president of the United States. I will continue to pray in faith, hope, and charity because that’s what Jesus said to do.

It is not difficult to do.

It cannot be denied that the two authors were prominent Italian Marxists (Mussolini and Gentile). Because it is obviously a Left wing manifesto the next questions will be who were the people mis-educating you and why were they doing so?

You need to spend more time in confession, reading your bible, praying -BROTHER. Are you sure you are a practicing Catholic and not a self righteous puritanical hypocrite? You’re the same kind who’s on other forums ripping Pope Francis for his humility and his emphasis on God’s mercy.
Also do you support euthanasia and respect life for the elderly? Do you support legislation that supports care for the poor and the elderly? Of course you don’t. You want to eliminate medicare and medicaid right?
and while we’re at it. let’s undo any and all of Obama’s legislation no matter how trivial.

Yes the communists and the fascists were two socialist groups fighting to control the future of socialism. The fascist socialists won in Italy and Germany before being wiped out during WWII which left communism as the continuing face of socialism.
 
God bless you brother, I pray for all the misinformed souls who blindly follow the party of hate in lockstep. Try to broaden your knowledge beyond Breitbart and Fox news. Try to read at least some of Pope Francis’s writings.

My comments said nothing about Donald Trump. It asked people to read the Fascist Manifesto written by two Marxists and see for themselves what it said. Did you do that?

Pivoting to Donald Trump from that post seems to be what is actually a little confusing.

Fascism is a left-wing value. A constitutional conservative cannot be as a matter of basic political science a fascist. It’s like saying you can be in 2 places at once.

It’s been said that fascism will only come to America in the form of anti-facism. We are seeing that today.

Brian Custer will simply not address the issue that the democratic party is about democracy. The republican party is about hypocrisy even regarding the abortion issue.
