Never the less. that is what you are. a fascist. you are supporting a fascist almost totalitarian government right now.
I agree that I think a fascist did run for president in 2016, I thank God she didn’t win.

The social doctrine of the Catholic church links social justice, peace and pro-life issues – it doesn’t rank them.
bold is my highlight
On May 14, 2004, Bishop Michael J. Sheridan of Colorado Springs said that “any Catholic politicians who advocate for abortion, for illicit stem cell research or for any form of euthanasia ipso facto place themselves outside full communion with the Church and so jeopardize their salvation, and that any Catholics who vote for candidates who stand for abortion, illicit stem cell research or euthanasia suffer the same fateful consequences. It is for this reason that these Catholics, whether candidates for office or those who would vote for them, may not receive Holy Communion until they have recanted their positions and been reconciled with God and the Church in the Sacrament of Penance.” The Bishop noted that while there may be many issues to consider when voting, the right to life trumps all other issues

I know that a few of you really dislike it when I insist that you all have to do the reading.

“None Dare Call It Treason” by John A. Stormer … it and the succeeding " None Dare Call It Treason – 25 Years Later" are both essential reading … how did we get to this mess.

“Con Job - How Democrats Gave Us Crime, Sanctuary Cities, Abortion Profiteering, and Racial Division” by Crystal Wright … She brings the discussion right up to date … 2016.

I know you want to debate with ME. But I want you and the observers to READ.

Smarter people than me have stated the facts … that can be studied and verified … and more than can be summarized in a debate or in an argument or in bickering.

And that’s what it is … use of bickering [a gerundive] to replace debate and study.

Why is it that Democrat politicians have no problem with inner-city riots … it’s ALL about manipulating black America for votes.

How do Democrats put America’s safety and prosperity a distant second to their party’s desire to remake America (and create more Democrat voters) through massive immigration.

Why do Democratic politicians shamelessly defend PLANNED PARENTHOOD, despite revelations that could have come from the Nazi doctors of the Third Reich.

I believe it is important to make a distinction between voting for a candidate that a Party puts up for election and being part of the “Party Machinery (Inner Party elites & their Outer Party functionaries )” who develop the “Narratives” to mask their true nature and purpose.
Suggest you revisit the book or movie “1984.” Being “O’brien and/or Winston Smith” would both be evil. O’Brein more than Smith, but both wrong.
Merely voting may simply mean choosing “Less Evil over More Evil,” while always remembering that all sovereign governments, regardless of type, are designed to be coercive, not voluntary, organizations. Their ultimate tool is a monopoly of force. So a "Party’s purpose (all Parties) is control over that means of force (physical force: Military, Police, Courts, Prisons and Economic Force: Taxation, Regulation, Control of Trade, Authority to Print Money and control interest rates, etc. If being a Christian and a Catholic is means anything like following the Beatitudes—Then looking to Government and Parties for Caritas (Love and Charity) will almost always lead to a Moral dillema and ultimately disappointment. Bottom Line: Vote (for the Lessor Evil) but do not be a part of the Outer Party or heaven forbid any cynical manipulative Inner Party.

Their goal is obviously not to “kill off their own population”.
It is, they believe we are overpopulated…
The DNC has “lowering Earth overpopulation” as a part of the plank?

Would you please provide a citation that shows this as being part of the democratic plank?

But by all means, lets not let facts (or the lack thereof) get in the way of irrational ideology.

They way I understand history, the democrats weren’t with the blacks in the civil rights act of 1964
Then I’m blown away LBJ, a democrat, signed it. 🤔
“My brother was the first President of the United States to state publicly that segregation was morally wrong. His heart and his soul are in this bill. If his life and death had a meaning, it was that we should not hate but love one another; we should use our powers not to create conditions of oppression that lead to violence, but conditions of freedom that lead to peace.”
Ted Kennedy, 1964

Good luck in your RCIA. I hope you enjoy the Easter service. I remember when I was in RCIA. I had a lot of questions too. 🙂

In the 1500s when the Portugeuese…
The notion that anyone anywhere owes some sort of credence to foundational ideas or actions 500 years past when choosing a political party is completely asinine.

When I select a party, I do so based on what’s going on today. Today’s issues and contemporary answers to them.
This is what most people so, as it’s common sense.

For the good of the glorious party. As majority leader he was against such things. As was the party. They always have been. And if they would’ve kept it up, they would’ve become redundant. But this is 2017.

Got it. The dems were against it, despite the dem president and dem majority leader obviously advocating it.

By all means, lets not let facts get in the way of our chosen narrative.

It’s good to know where you come from. Maybe you’ll actually see where you’re going. The peasantry either don’t have the brain matter to know, or know the rules of logic to know HOW to think. And you can over think. Most just feel. It’s always been that way. It is as you say, the 21st century.

I understand the perspective, but I don’t think the sentiment is particularly true.

The progressive spirit used to be embodied by the reps. Now it’s embodied by the dems.

YMMV, obviously.

Victorygirl - I am a Brit, and during past decades I have voted Left, Right and indeed for Centre political Parties - but for the last 10 or so years I have found myself in effect disenfranchised, due to the major Parties support for the likes of Abortion, ‘Gay Marriage’, and other issues.

Oh the Britons have many more parties. WE only have two. We need more parties. SO we have extremes. Life isn’t like that. It’s either way over here, or way over there. Not necessarily so.

Hum. Now wait just a minute. I have to look at some things here. Here’s a link.

It looks like maybe the dems and republicans in the house were half and half on party here. I am looking into this. Maybe there were dems voting. I’ll find out here.

More dems voted no than rep. And more Dems voted yea than rep. Just looking at numbers.

Three cheers for a multi-party system!

May no one party EVER have lone-majority in order that compromise must carry the day!

Huzzah!
