Well, for one:

For literally centuries, the skirt has been one of the principal outwards expressions of Christian femininity and part of the identity of the Christian woman.

I could go into more, but it’s getting late. Feel free to message me if you would like more!

On the topic of cassocks:

The one time I felt strongly attracted to a man based on physical appearance was to a young handsome ICKSP priest who cut the most dashing figure in his cassock. Honestly, I was more attracted to that than any guys I’ve seen in tight gym clothes or amazing suits.

I literally just rejoined CAF to throw this into the mix 😛

Christian women wore skirts because all women wore skirts (in non-tropical cultures, anyway). It was nothing specific to Christianity.

But were you sexually aroused by his sight? So much so that you would have to look away from him and remove yourself from the situation under pain of sin?

It’s random posts like this that I live for.

Welcome back. 😂😂

We have room in the confession line. (See up thread.) 🤣🤣

I doubt normal men in Western society have that reaction to women in jeans or slacks.

Regardless of whether or not it was specific to Christianity, it still remained part of the Christian identity.

If this was written by two men, everyone would be appalled.

I don’t think I’ve personally ever experienced lust based on appearance, just very powerful physical attraction. Certainly the feeling was stronger than I would have experienced in the past seeing many a hot dude topless on a beach for example

And it wasn’t. So no one is. We don’t need policing. Everyone knows it was a joke, building on one started by myself and another female further up thread on a very similar topic.

Right.

But for men simply a sight can cause arousal. Quite intense arousal at that, which of course, they must avoid under pain of sin.

Only in countries where it was the norm anyway. I don’t know where you’re from, but it’s just not the norm in America, and hasn’t been for a long time. American men don’t find the sight of women in pants specifically sexual, because it’s just how American women dress.

You’re catastrophizing now. Are we talking about strippers, or women in slacks?

It’s the norm in Western society at large, not just the US.

As a contrasting example, when I lived in Saudi, it was a totally different situation, and I was quite thankful for an abaya when I was out in public.

Theoretically, both. It doesn’t take much is what I’m trying to say.

^ Perhaps, but in most circumstances, I doubt it would have much to do with the fact that the person was wearing pants.
