You’re also making broad generalizations about modesty that really don’t hold up in this day and age.I’m suggesting that certain clothes are more feminine than others.

Christian women wore skirts because all women wore skirts (in non-tropical cultures, anyway). It was nothing specific to Christianity. For literally centuries, the skirt has been one of the principal outwards expressions of Christian femininity and part of the identity of the Christian woman.
That men would find work slacks sexier than a nice skirt.Like what?
It’s random posts like this that I live for.On the topic of cassocks:
The one time I felt strongly attracted to a man based on physical appearance was to a young handsome ICKSP priest who cut the most dashing figure in his cassock. Honestly, I was more attracted to that than any guys I’ve seen in tight gym clothes or amazing suits.
I literally just rejoined CAF to throw this into the mix![]()
I doubt normal men in Western society have that reaction to women in jeans or slacks. But were you sexually aroused by his sight? So much so that you would have to look away from him and remove yourself from the situation under pain of sin?
If this was written by two men, everyone would be appalled.ShrodingersCat:![]()

Welcome back.
We have room in the confession line. (See up thread.)![]()
Right. Pants were considered barbarian wear, if I’m not mistaken. In biblical times, men and women both wore what would be considered dresses today.
Only in countries where it was the norm anyway. I don’t know where you’re from, but it’s just not the norm in America, and hasn’t been for a long time. American men don’t find the sight of women in pants specifically sexual, because it’s just how American women dress.it still remained part of the Christian identity.
You’re catastrophizing now. Are we talking about strippers, or women in slacks?Right.
But for men simply a sight can cause arousal. Quite intense arousal at that, which of course, they must avoid under pain of sin.
It’s the norm in Western society at large, not just the US.semper_catholicus:![]()
