Canada Legalizes Gay Marriage

Just hours ago, Canada legalized gay marriage. The definnition is being changed. Just saw it on the news.

I have a feeling the U.S. will be next. I have one question about this whole “gay marriage” thing??? My biggest fear would be if it was legalized in the U.S. (where I live) and priests would refuse to marry gay couples, the government would somehow rule this as discrimination and try to force churches (ALL churches, not just Catholic ones) to marry gay couples. Now I know most people would say this would never happen, but look at what has happened so far in this country–abortion legalized, Terri Schiavo killed, the Ten Commandments removed from courthouses, pharmacists going to court because they refuse to dispense birth control, and I believe I heard somewhere that the courts ordered Catholic Charities in California to include birth control in their employee health benefits (not sure if this one is true or not). The courts have been stripping us of our religious rights one by one. This scenario would not surprise me one bit.

Canada now has not only legal gay marriage. It also has a strict hate speech law, of which one of the protected categories is sexual orientation.

If Churches and their ministers now say “intolerant” things about gay marriage, that could well be construed as hate speech, and they will find themselves in violation of the law.

I guess it is time to take back your government. Slowly over time, the libs have populated the judiciary with its fellow travelers while the citizenry of Canada slept or acquiesced or convinced themselves it didn’t matter and they didn’t have to get involved. If there’s a spark of life left, let’s hope this travesty lights it.

Priests, bishops, nuns and laymen will be put in prison over this issue… because of refusing to perform gay marriages or preaching against homosexuality. Canada has no freedom of religion, Bill C250 carries a 2 year jail sentence for such thought crimes.

In Canada ‘There have already been “hate” crime law suits against private Christian newspapers that refused to advertise gay events and against Church halls that refused gay events. The Christian owners of a bed and breakfast were fined forced to close down their family business (unless they learn their lesson and allow gay men to have sex in their house), because they refused a gay couple a shared room. And as I mentioned above, Scott Brockie, incurred $200,000 in court fees simply because he refuses to print for the gay literature that it is against his religion. Now under Bill C250 in Canada, a Canadian who in good conscience speaks out against gay sex can be thrown in prison for 2 years. These do not sound like Human Rights, they are Human Wrongs.’

The Knights of Columbus have a Catholic reception hall in Vancouver. They politely refused to let their premises be used for a lesbian marriage reception, based on their mission statement that says they uphold Christian values. They are now in court.

In Philadelphia, 11 people are facing up to 47 years in prison each for quietly demonstrating at a public gay pride parade while being hounded and yelled at by the “gay angels.” Yet gay activists from Soulforce Albuquerque, disrupted a peaceful meeting of “Courage” (a group of gay Catholics who meet together to follow Church teachings of sexuality) in a Catholic Church, with absolutely no consequences. Such was always against the law. I’m no lawyer either, but I believe Canada has had a law against assault on its books for quite a while.

Some people now are more equal than others. Orthodox Christianity is now illegal. Perhaps churches in the US can smuggle Bibles into Canada, once the authorities start burning books.

Alarmist? Not considering the people already facing financial ruin or jail time for expressing that genital homosexuality is wrong and counter-productive for society… as Sparta found.

I wonder… will this law be enforced against Canada’s Islamic citizens? Or will authorities fear the outcome of such an action?

Paul Martin is a Catholic, and yet he is pro-choice and pro-gay marriage. These are the two greatest moral battlefields of the Church today. As the political leader of a nation, wielding considerable power which could be used for a lot of moral good… this man has chosen to support the evil tide of secular society under the deceptive guises of “tolerance” and “equality”. Not only that, but he is a fundamental instrument in today’s immoral legislation which will inevitably cause even greater spiritual decline in what was once a strongly Christian country. He is clearly not doing God’s will.

The Church should act decisively and publically excommunicate him for grave scandal.
