I’m pretty sure you know the concerns to which folks typically refer, even if you don’t agree with them – Trump calling for a ban of Muslim refugees, telling Fox and Friends that he advocates a war crime, demeaning comments about women and Mexicans…
All the republican candidates have called for a halt of migration of muslim refugees into the country.

Trump didn’t demean Mexicans. He talked about those who were criminals.

So you think that the GOP is going to rally around Trump in the end?
The GOP is going to rally around someone who thinks Planned Parenthood is a wonderful organization? Um…I don’t think so. Either abortion (which PP promotes) is a non-negotiable, or it’s not. Lots of people who like Bernie are undoubtedly feeling VERY vindicated right about now.

:okpeople: The UKayers, the NewZ’s, the rest of the EU - the American people have been restraining themselves from “do-nothing” politicians and “do terrible things” politicians. We are sizing up the field of contenders and see that Mr. Trump displays qualities that are needed to recover from the last near 8 years. and the real threat of a Socialist Revolutionary plus a veteran political grifter.

Most Americans that are trying to undo/live through this last Administration realize the “established” Repubs just did not accomplish what they were repeatedly asked to do. Now it seems that they are afraid Trump will rock their boat too! Good! We need a good rocking! We do not need to be deterred by those who are protecting their turf.

Who would have guessed we would be hearing from Mitch Romney. People gave him so much heartfelt hope and when confronted with Democrat trickery he “choked”. Best guess is that since Jeb Bush did not do well, and ended his unhappy bid, that his supporters decided to give ole Mitt a call - the established Republicans were feeling a pinch.

There had better not be any Democrat Party tricks played by the Republican Party - talk of a “brokered” convention.l We, the Republican voters, will turn out to fire everyone of them as their turn comes up. We demand honest voter driven elections, not super-
delegate games.
Well said!👍

War Crimes? Water boarding? It is not better to allow Americans do die. But that’s just me.
I wasn’t referring to waterboarding. I was referring to his advocacy of “taking out” the families of terrorists. That’s a war crime.
Xenophobia? Illegals have killed, robbed and otherwise hurt many Americans, saying Xenophobia must be a comfort to the families who have lost loved ones.

But that’s just me.
There is no justification for xenophobia, just as the crime rate among African-Americans doesn’t justify racism.

How do you define xenophobia? Many people agree that we have a problem with islamic terrorism. Not all muslims are terrorists but all terrorists seem to be muslim. That’s stating a fact not xenophobia. Similarly, trying to secure our border is not xenophobia. Enforcing our laws is not xenophobia.

As I noted, it doesn’t matter whether one agrees with the concerns I noted in terms of the point I was making about them – that being that we don’t need to locate and provide sources each time these concerns are mentioned.

Thank you.

Confused… I didn’t say anything about your lack of sources. I only said it’s not just trump who wants to stop refugees from coming in. It’s simply not safe not knowing who these refugees are. It’s much better to find a safe zone in the middle east.

you don’t need to provide sources but you do need to get your facts straight. Trump didn’t insult mexicans. He didn’t say all mexicans were criminals.

To be clear, I think Trump etal challenged Obama to **halt Muslim immigration until Obama fixed the known gaps in screening **for terrorists, again just a common sense request that politically highlights known issues we need to fix.

I see how some want to lump all these crimes together so as to not single out islamic terrorism. Either we have a problem with islamic terrorism or we don’t. You can put your head in the sand, but 9/11 was not caused by regular folk with a gun. Of course there are other crimes in the society but there is a salient category that is committed by islamic extremists. To not deal with that is to to not face the problem. It’s only going to get worse.

Another poster complained that no sources were being offered but only generalizations about concerns re: Trump. I pointed out that sources shouldn’t be necessary every time such concerns are referenced. That same poster clearly didn’t understand to what concerns I was referring so I summarized a few. That’s it.

(But yes, he did insult Mexicans. ;))

That’s like someone saying, “Some of my best friends are…” No, Trump didn’t say ALL Mexicans are criminals, but he did say that we don’t get the best; we get the rapists and other criminals. Later on, as is Trump’s custom, he went on to say he cherishes the Mexican people, just as he cherishes women and everyone else whom he initially insults.

Respectfully, I’m not putting my head in the sand. Terrorism is a defined term – and claiming that most terrorist attacks on the US are perpetrated by Muslims is factually incorrect.

No, he said, when the Mexican government sends illegals to America, they are not sending the best. That’s not insulting Mexicans.

Got a link that explains/supports it’s charts? I perceive they had very loose parameters since the article argued the Boston Marathon bombers were not terrorists.

The Mexican Govt also enables illegal immigrants from south of their border to traverse Mexico and enter the US southern border. I expect getting Mexico to manage their problem will be part of the solution.

I don’t think you are going to pursuade very many with your theory.

Theory? It’s documented and I provided a source to demonstrate this. I may not persuade many, that is true. But it is not for lack of evidence.

The Somali community are new arrivals to the US, within 15-20 years but they have had many recruits to Terrorist organizations.

One of the Paris terrorists “used” the refugee system to move around.

Some of these terrorists had been to Syria; so, one’s documentation may try to restrict it to a set example of persons from a refugee group but on the other hand, why can one not address that ISIS themselves have said they would infiltrate the refugees? That should count for something as well.

What about refugee problems that have occurred in Germany, Greece and so on? That is part of the equation as well.

I can see the logic and yet, I’m not proposing this, I just browsed a few articles,

First off, Super Saturday is coming up, Kansas, Nebraska and a few others, maybe Kentucky.

Ok, the articles talk about Rubio teaming up with Ted, I guess, Rubio would be dropping out and Rubio voters would go to Cruz. Cruz and Rubio together are higher than Trump.

The other side of the coin is for those who think Rubio is so electable, then, it would be Rubio who would be at the forefront. Marco though, isn’t really winning many states. So we will see.
