THANKS, THAT IS ONE OF THE BEST QUESTIONS [IMO] EVER ASKED HERE ON THE FORUM

Truly Profound!
So the reply too must be profound.
The answer lies is human understanding and expectations compared to Gods own.
**Isaiah 55:8-9 **“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, says the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts”
Many see the splendor of Vestments, Cathedrals and Art as an unnecessary extravagance. Even showing off. NOT SO. Look at God’s Precise COMMANDS to Moses in builing the ark and the Place of worship he COMMANDED in** Exodus chapter 25 to 30.**
Here’s a sampling:
Exod.25: 11 -39 " And you shall overlay it with pure gold, within and without shall you overlay it, and you shall make upon it a molding of gold round about. Then you shall make a mercy seat of pure gold; two cubits and a half shall be its length, and a cubit and a half its breadth. You shall overlay it with pure gold, and make a molding of gold around it. And you shall make its plates and dishes for incense, and its flagons and bowls with which to pour libations; of pure gold you shall make them. “And you shall make a lampstand of pure gold. The base and the shaft of the lampstand shall be made of hammered work; its cups, its capitals, and its flowers shall be of one piece with it; Their capitals and their branches shall be of one piece with it, the whole of it one piece of hammered work of pure gold. Its snuffers and their trays shall be of pure gold. Of a talent of pure gold shall it be made, with all these utensils.”
And as for vestments:
Exod.28: 1-12 “Then bring near to you Aaron your brother, and his sons with him, from among the people of Israel, to serve me as priests – Aaron and Aaron’s sons, Nadab and Abi’hu, Elea’zar and Ith’amar. And you shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother, for glory and for beauty. And you shall speak to all who have ability, whom I have endowed with an able mind, that they make Aaron’s garments to consecrate him for my priesthood.
These are the garments which they shall make: a breastpiece, an ephod, a robe, a coat of checker work, a turban, and a girdle; they shall make holy garments for Aaron your brother and his sons to serve me as priests. ] And you shall set the two stones upon the shoulder-pieces of the ephod, as stones of remembrance for the sons of Israel; and Aaron shall bear their names before the LORD upon his two shoulders for remembrance.”
WHY?
Because dear friend God is PERFECT and DEMANDS the very Best we are able to return to Him in ALL that we do:thumbsup:
